💙🤍At Garscube we organise ourselves into training packs, so as our senior athletes can train with those of similar speeds and abilities. Each pack has leaders and this helps to organise the training sessions when it comes to pacing, recoveries and routes; helping both the coaches and athletes. Kicking off the pack G intros is Dave McKay. Pack G have a 10k race time of 40-42 minutes.

👉 How long have you been in the Club as a member? Since October 2015. I got the Garscube info from one of my work colleagues (Allan Wallace) who told me how awesome it was. He joined me for that first training session and didn’t cross the clubhoose door again until about 3 weeks ago! 5️⃣.5️⃣

👉 What is your day job? I work as a software developer, so lots of work on data, applications and making sure things don’t fall over when they’re not meant to. 👨‍💻🤨

👉 Favourite Garscube memory? Loads of them revolve around races and cake, but Manchestaaaa 2019 will always be a favourite, not just for the race itself, but that whole training season too. A number of us who all had marathon plans that spring regularly met up for some group long runs. Lots of miles along the canal with club mates to make the training so much more enjoyable. 🏁🧁🏃‍♀️🏃

👉 Least favourite Garscube memory? Never really had a bad memory. The last year of cancelled plans, runs and general nonsense with clubmates hasn’t exactly been brilliant though. 🤔😓😜

👉 What has running taught you? Runners are a bunch of weirdos! We pay people for the chance to run around fields full of mud in the deepest darkest winter months in any weather imaginable and then immediately want to do it all over again! Still wouldn’t want to do anything else with my spare time and the cake makes it all worthwhile. 🤪👟❄️🌬☔️🍰

👉 What are you most looking forward to after Lockdown? Travelling again properly, getting back to normal running and club training sessions. Will need to come up with new excuses to avoid the worst cross country races but that’s a sacrifice I’m happy to make. ✈️🏃🏻🤭
