I’m still crashing parties in my 40’s even though the youngings called me auntie!

I’m a private auntie and not a community auntie!

It’s been a whirlwind two weeks across @oh_kinasai , @yiff_jp, and finally @jeonju_iff.

“Purehearted” was screened in both Okinawa and Jeonju, and every screening sold out. It was moving to see how the protagonist’s journey as an ordinary woman pursuing her dream with unwavering determination, together with this universal story of family, resonated strongly with audiences in Korea. The Q&A sessions were incredibly lively and memorable. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity, Molly Kim!

One of the biggest highlights was my Best Actor nomination for “LONE SAMURAI”. Deeply grateful to the directors @wallerjoshc, producers, and the dedicated cast and crew who supported me. I will continue to refine my craft.

沖縄国際文化祭、横浜国際映画祭、全州国際映画祭と怒涛の2週間でした。沖縄と全州での『風のマジム』の上映は全て完売。平凡に生きてきたマジムがひたむきに夢を追う姿、そして普遍的な家族の物語が韓国の観客の心にも届いてくれたようで、Q&Aもとても盛り上がりました。

個人的なハイライトは『LONE SAMURAI』が横浜で優秀男優賞をいただいたこと。海外での受賞やノミネートはありましたが、日本では初めてのことだったので喜びも格別でした。僕を信じ、役を託してくれたJosh監督、そして献身的に支えてくれたスタッフとキャストに心から感謝します。これからも愚直に己の表現を磨き続けていきたいと思います。

And that’s a wrap on Spring 2026 semester 🥳 Round of applause for showing up, showing out and following through. This semester academically and professionally was about stretching. Really understanding that I can bend but I won’t break. What started off with me considering to withdraw from the semester bc I just needed a breather turned into me blossoming in ways I never thought of.

Highlights of my semester:
▫️Dinner with THE Dr. Cornel West and Philosophy Prof. Simon Critchley 🤯
▫️Presenting to the CEO and other members of leadership at @adweek and getting to attend Social Media Week. Everyone’s presentations were phenomenal and super proud of what my team and I whipped up
▫️To the growing friendship and community between my classmates and staff/faculty at TNS. The community at TNS is truly top notch and undefeated.
▫️Rediscovering NYC & enjoying the warm weather with friends.
▫️Working my 4th commencement and my first as an Associate Director and so excited for Spring ‘27 bc I won’t be working but attending since I’ll be walking that stage this time next year. #roadtograduation2027
▫️AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ‼️‼️ I bust my behind this semester juggling so much and I’m proud to have finished this semester strong (& better than I expected)

I’ve turned a corner on my sense of self. I will never ever doubt what I’m made of. As PD of Change Church mentioned in a past sermon that is stuck with me, “hard times are not just about education but it leads us to encounters.” And that it has done. God has carried me through a season where he has revealed his nature and care to and for me 🫂🤍

Day 1 - “Auntie, Outsider” panel, thank you to @hyeseungs and @christina.wj.cha , your words filled this auntie’s well, and to the Auntieverse that attended.

Day 2 - scenes from Quincy’s two cool offsites - @sundaysalonnyc + @writlargeprojects at @backyardbaltimore and @saint_lucy_books x @newschoolwriting at @marylandinstitutecollegeofart .

Day 3 - dueling panels! my “Tenderness of Truth” and Q’s “‘Where Ya At?’ ‘Home’ in BIPOC Graphic Novels” were at the same time. Thank you to my cool crew @nglipson , @jillbialosky , @hyeseungs and Q’s @evnarc , @mustachebabs , @600mildollarman , @mutantxfactor .

Most of all, grateful for all the community, my Two Truths fam @bsides_the_wench , @faroparo and @mvillemfa crew and many others. From deep hangs to fly-by hugs, community is everything.
