KOILOS: EMPTINESS AND NEGATIVE SPACE

-KOILOS comes from the Greek word “koîloç” (koîlos), meaning
“hollow, “concave,” or “cavity.” The title reflects the project’s fascination with emptiness, negative space, and softness as a visual and emotional language.

Rather than presenting femininity as loud or performative, KOILOS explores it as something introspective, quiet, and sculptural. The body interacts with light, fabric, and architecture almost like an object inhabiting space: creating tension between presence and absence, fragility and structure.
The name also references the architectural background: the idea that emptiness itself can shape emotion, atmosphere, and form.

How do you wear the skin?

A story of identity, transformation, and collaboration.

Created by the students of the Master in Fashion Styling and the Master in Fashion Photography alongside the development of 026 Membrane, this fashion film was presented during the Showcase under the artistic direction of @zionlacroix, with an original soundtrack composed by the students of @saintlouiscollegeofmusic.

What’s something you do that you’re not attached to the outcome of?

For a while, I didn’t do anything that wasn’t motivated by a desired result.

Modeling, blogging, content creating… all my interests had pressure behind them.

I’ve realized this is part of the reason I am experiencing burnout. Everything I did had an underlying stress to it that slowly built up until it became too much.

This past week I’ve gotten back into an old hobby that I am purely doing just for the fun—no expectations.

It’s bringing me so much joy that I’m starting to feel myself come back to life, so to speak, and I just want to remind you that not everything has to be so serious.

Some things can just be for the fun of it.

The future of the fashion industry is bright. ✨

One fun part of modeling in Milan was the opportunity to shoot with local fashion and photography students.

The students really impressed me with their passion and creativity. They were so supportive of each other and I could really tell how much they cared about their concepts.

It was a pleasure to get to work with them. Some of my favorite photos from this trip came from shoots like these.
