Celebrating my past, present, future and so many women who have walked alongside me on my entrepreneurial path. Particularly reminiscing on my decade plus journey creating and building the @iveycakestore brand. I couldn’t have done it without so many dedicated ladies. Shout out to @mrsopalek who is carrying the #iveycake torch and killing it! #internationalwomensday 📷 @madlovephotography #followyoursweetdreams

The kitchen is where I made a thoughtful choice to listen to the rhythm of my imagination and began creating. I witnessed a kind of magic in each and every flavor of cake and icing that made its way out of my head and into my mixer. I can’t believe this September, IveyCake will celebrate 11 years as a brick-and-mortar bakery. One thing I know for sure is that what began in my tiny apartment kitchen could never have survived without many talented, passionate people working beside me. Now I see a thriving business that churns out cupcakes around the clock and the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen. It has evolved into much more than I could have ever imagined!

So, now for an exciting announcement. Iveycake is now under new ownership. Her name is Whitney Opalek and she has been my trusted employee with the INCREDIBLE cake decorating skills whose work can be found all over our Instagram account. Whitney is a wife to Brian Opalek and mom to the cutest little guy, Maddon. Truly, I could not have asked for a more capable person to take the reins. She’s pretty much a dream-come-true: with years of bakery management experience under her belt, she is the woman with the right skills to continue to lead IveyCake. The same trusted IveyCake name and recipes you have all grown to love, crave, and support will remain. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and pride for my part in the history of success of IveyCake, but I am excited to watch Whitney take our work to the next level. Please join me in welcoming Whitney Opalek to the IveyCake owner seat.
As for me, I’ll be embracing this new chapter of life focusing on my two daughters and spending a lot more time on recipe development from my new home kitchen that I’ll share on my @iveycooks account. I’ll pop into IveyCake often for my cakes and treats and share those beautiful works of art with you. If you don’t already, you must follow @iveycakestore for a daily dose of pure cake happiness. Thank you all for your indescribable love and support of IveyCake. To have such customer loyalty since 2008 in such a competitive marketplace like Nashville is no small feat. And trust me when I say: IveyCake is just getting started. Xo,Ivey
