@atamerica Academy | English Presentation Skills | December 10, 2025

I joined the @atamerica Academy session on English Presentation Skills expecting a useful evening, but I didn’t expect to end up being one of the volunteers for the Speaking Challenge. My hand went up before my brain could stop it — and suddenly I was standing in front of everyone, trying to come up with a scenario on the spot.

I ended up pitching myself as a PR specialist applying for a job at Pearson Specter & Partners — yes, the law firm from Suits.
For a solid minute, it genuinely felt like I was interviewing with Harvey Specter himself.
Terrifying? Absolutely.
But weirdly entertaining too.

I won’t lie, my nerves kicked in the second they handed me the prompt. But sometimes you just have to breathe, trust yourself, and go for it.

What I really appreciated about this session was how practical the tools were.
The 3Ws Technique — What, Why, What’s Next — pushed me to cut the noise and say exactly what I meant.
And the PEEL method — Point, Explanation, Evidence, Link — helped me organize a scenario I had to create on the spot without drifting all over the place.

When I finally spoke, it wasn’t perfect — but it was clear, structured, and more confident than I expected. That alone felt like a small win.

And honestly? It was way more fun than I anticipated. I guess the right company makes all the difference.
Jakarta International English feels less like a class now and more like a crew — the kind you’re comfortable enough with to laugh, learn, and grow together.

Huge thanks to @atamerica for hosting, and to @mrwonlay and @aalyma__ for running such an engaging, practical session. I came for the lesson, but the real value was stepping out of my comfort zone and realizing I’m capable of more than I give myself credit for.

.
Kalian tetap di hati ❤
