ARTIST FOCUS: Mahsa Mohammadi is a visual artist and writer based in Tehran. Viewing her colorful, thin-layered abstract works as self-portraits, she explores themes such as gender, memory, and ontology with a cheerful, confessional tone. This exhibition showcases her latest works on textile, paper, and cardboard, alongside drawing notebooks and an autobiographical short story, depicting the female body in a dynamic trajectory.

Mahsa’s works are currently on display until September 22 in the temporary mohit.art Project Space at Goebenstr. 10, 10783 Berlin by appointment and online until October 13, 2024. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire her fascinating pieces. @ms.fortyfive

You're invited to "Art Affects: The Artist's Body," an exhibition featuring the Iranian artists Azar Pajuhandé, Mahsa Mohammadi, Nasim Goli, and Pooneh Oshidari. The exploration of the female body, its representation and expression are critical in the Iranian context today. With this exhibition, we challenge stereotypical and Orientalist perspectives and offer new artistic viewpoints. The exhibition is also significant within the framework of feminist discourse, emphasizing the need for a transcultural perspective in gender and identity politics within the visual arts.

Join us for the opening on September 8 and an artist talk on September 13 at the temporary mohit.art Project Space, Goebenstr. 10 in Berlin-Schöneberg. The exhibition runs from September 9-22, 2024, complemented by an online presentation of additional works until October 13.
