Cancer in Common Fundraiser 2026

What a day! The biggest thank you to everyone who came along to support us and to those who supported us from afar. Saturday was incredibly special and thanks to your generosity, we raised a fantastic amount of money that will help us continue funding Cancer in Common events and keeping them completely free for our community.

There are some very big thank yous needed…

By far, the best day of my year so far (even topped my birthday in Greece). Honestly, I absolutely love the simply things in life, grateful for my blessings and able to spend quality time in nature, being grounded and capturing God's beauty through my lens.

PART 1: Having a photographer as your friend definitely has its perks... 😂📸💜

Last week, I did something I'm trying to do more of... I took a proper day off.

No client brief. No deadlines. Just a day spent wandering around the lavender fields @mayfieldlavender with one of my favourite people @gabyjefa, soaking up the beautiful sunshine, loving life and enjoying some much-needed me time.

Of course, I couldn't resist picking up my camera. I literally can't help myself 😅

I'm an event photographer through and through, but every now and then I love stepping outside my comfort zone and challenging myself with portraits and other exciting things. Massive thanks to my gorgeous friend for happily letting me experiment and guide her through this, I honestly love how these turned out 😊🪻.

Sometimes the best photos happen when there's no pressure... just good company, beautiful light and a camera in your hand. 💜

Wow wow wow what a night!! 🔥

For our second Untold Cancer Stories Live event we focused on all things blood cancer, and it was amazing 🤩

A MASSIVE thank you to @bloodcancer_uk @myelomauk @acltcharity for coming down and sharing some incredibly valuable information and support around Blood Cancer, hosted by our member @ms_may3 and joined by another extraordinary member @iam.j.durban 😍

We also got to honour the wonderful @gillianjoseph101 who was fresh off her 100 mile trek in the Scottish Highlands, all to raise awareness around Myeloma, and to raise funds for us at BWR! 💥

Thanks to all who came along and asked the all important questions - awareness raising is a huge part of how we make sure that women of colour are better supported on their cancer journeys. ✨

Celebrating a powerful morning of sisterhood, strength, and purpose.

This event marked the onboarding of @adeolagboyega as the third patron of @blackwomenrisinguk — and what a meaningful moment it was. The room was filled with incredible, inspiring women, each bringing their own story, energy, and presence.

We listened, we reflected, and we held space for the real experiences of women navigating cancer — stories that were both humbling and deeply moving.

Adeola shared her vision of using her expertise in the makeup and skincare industry to support women of colour through their cancer journey — helping them feel seen, confident, and cared for during some of their most challenging moments.

This is what community looks like.
This is what sisterhood feels like.

Massive round of applause 👏🏾

I honestly loved every minute of attending @thephotographyshow . Being surrounded by so many creatives, hearing different journeys and just talking about photography all day… it was inspiring.

One of my highlights was stopping by the @ukbftog stand and saying YES to having my headshots taken by @jkgphotography who, I have been following for a while but met in person recently at an event that she was photographing. Such a great moment. I couldn’t resist doing a quick light edit myself afterwards using the jpeg files delivered by @captureone

And of course… I had to stop by the @canonuk stand too 📸

The photography community is slowly becoming part of my DNA. I had so many great conversations and met some amazing people who share the same love for this craft as I do.

Still smiling about it. Already looking forward to the next one.

Black Women Rising turned 7 — and what a way to celebrate. 🖤✨

I joined 60 incredible women for the Black Women Rising 5K fundraising trek through Fryent Country Park , led by the amazing @rhianesworld of @bgh_uk

It was one of those wholesome mornings where everything just aligned —
nature, conversation, wisdom, laughter… and yes, a few muddy slips and slides along the way. 🌿🥾

There’s something powerful about women coming together in the outdoors — sharing stories, holding space, and celebrating life.

Huge congratulations to the Black Women Rising team, who collectively raised £12,500 to support Black women affected by cancer. An incredible achievement.

I have mentioned this before but I feel it necessary to come back to this because it has laid something on my heart.

A few months ago, I stepped slightly outside my usual lane and captured a beautiful mama & baby portrait session for my good friends @mrandmrsgotravel

I was overwhelmed and shocked by the response.
The love. The messages. Even people were asking who the photographer was.

It reminded me that growth happens beyond your comfort zone.

Event photography will always be my core. But I’m considering offering a limited number of outdoor mini portrait sessions for Spring/Summer 2026 — natural light, relaxed, connection-focused shoots.

This could be for couples, individuals or families.

This wouldn’t be high-volume, very limited offering.
It would be intentional. Seasonal. Carefully curated.

Before I plan properly, would this be something you’d be interested in?

I’m thinking of offering a special introductory rate to the first 3 bookings.
