If you build it, they will come……..and if we had to sum up the entire 2025-2026 school year, it’s this speech that will let you know what the goal was: to create OUR own sport!!! Content Production is the future!!! And the Gold Coast High Schools Film Festival is something we will truly build to establish the future storytellers and let Hollywood know that Ventura County has some GREAT filmmakers and we won’t be denied!!! Let’s go!!!!!!!

What an amazing evening! 13 High Schools from across Ventura County showcased films at the first annual @gchsfilmfest In his filmmaking premier, Hudson Powell represented the Buena Filmmaking program with his film The La Jenelle. The audience was captivated by the film, especially the underwater shots, and it won Best Cinematography! Thank you to OUHSD teachers Trae Briers and Omar Espinoza for having the vision and taking on the work of this event! Thank you to VHS teacher Hilary Morefield-Colman for being a great co-presenter. Can’t wait for next year!

4x5 Double Negative. Having a ton of fun learning to load, shoot, develop, and scan large form@t thanks to @ms_morefield! Here we scanned two negatives at once with first period 📸 to achieve somewhat of a Temu double exposure as my son would say.

WOW you guys are INCREDIBLE!! ✨ within the first 24 hours of launching our crowdfunding campaign, we reached 42% of our goal!! 🏆 (we’re basically half way there haha)

We still have 29 days left in our campaign and I’m feeling veryyyy confident that we will reach our goal before the deadline!

I wanted to take the time to give a special shout out to everyone who donated during these 24 hours. THANK YOU so much for giving us a launch better than anything we could have hoped for 🚀✨
