A late Sunday afternoon post! Mostly because I got to sleep in and then once I did get up, my day has been filled with laundry, cleaning, and playing with my boys (which, really, is kind of an ideal day after spending Saturday in Chicago!).

But back to the stack! A while ago, @sunflower_library challenged me to spell the word LEAVES with the books on my shelf. I'm tagging some friends to join in on the fun with the word HARVEST.

🌻 AUGUST HOPEFULS 🌻

I normally don’t make a monthly hopeful list because I’m a mood reader. However, a lot of books have entered my home these past two months and I need to start tackling them. Honestly, it stresses me out having so many unread books on my shelves!

Am I also contemplating downloading an ARC widget for a book that releases on 9/2? You bet I am (I am a sucker for witchy romances)! But for now, let’s pretend I’ve got my life somewhat sorted. 😂

Happy Friday!

I decided to do a rainbow stack but only include books that feature magical realism or paranormal romance! Bride is sort of pushing it as a ‘red’ but I’m gonna allow it.

⬇️ Do you have anything fun planned this weekend? My in-laws are currently flying here for the weekend, and then we’ll have a family birthday party for all my guys (yep, my sons and husband all have July birthdays). It’s going to be a lot but there will be cupcakes (and my kindle will never be too far from me).

☀️😎 SUMMER STACK 😎☀️

Welp, it’s officially Summer…though you could’ve fooled me with all these 90 plus degree days we’ve been having! 🫠 Since my boys have been out of school for two weeks already, I’ve been trying to maximize Summer fun (like going to the pool and the library), but today may just be a ‘stay in the AC’ day.

🌈 JUNE STACK 🌈

This is it - the last week of school!

And if I'm being honest, I am on the verge of crying every time I think about how my baby (he’s almost 5) will be starting kindergarten in the Fall. My eyes are literally tearing up as I write this. I almost cried at drop off this morning. 😂

They weren’t joking when they said the days are long but the years are short. 😭

❇️☔ APRIL HOPEFULS ☔❇️

March was all about reading ARCs, and I think April may be, too? Mostly because I ended up with more ARCs than I started with but also because I have more unread ARCs than I like having (and I'm not even including the widgets). I'm hoping to get this number down... If only to request more ARCs 😂

I also want to prioritize my physical tbr shelf and my library books... two of which are overdue 😬📚.

But full disclosure: the *second* I get @india.holton 's book in my hands, that will be my priority.

✨🍀 March Book Challenge 🍀✨

I am *finally* doing this challenge from @behappyreadbooks ! For a long time, I was hung-up on the second prompt (for someone who loves reading about magical realism, I don't have ANY books that feature "luck" or "magic" in their title! 🤯). BUT, over the years, I've collected older books about Ireland so I decided to use one of those!

🕶️ WEEKEND PLANS 🕶️

This weekend will be busy... but I'm hoping to sneak in some reading time when possible! I'll obviously be bringing a book with me wherever I go 😉

First, I plan to finish Digging Dr. Jones by @oliviajacksonbooks . I'm currently about 40% in and loving this adventure rom-com so far!

After that, I plan on diving into Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy. It was my BOTM pick for March and it comes highly recommended by @jenn.newm.reads AND @sherry_reads_books so I'm REALLY excited to dive in!

No Theme, Just Vibes 😎

⬇️ Tell me - what's got you smiling today?

Some bookstacks have deep meaning... but this one just makes me happy to look at! I started with the pink to yellow transition and just kept going. No theme, no rules, just a soothing, colorful bookstack.

Maybe it's the sunshine. ☀️ Maybe it's the warm weather (it's in the 40's so please give me this after the single digit temps we've been dealing with). Or maybe it's the fact that I can finally see my living room floor. 🎉

Either way, today feels like it's going to be a good day!
