HELD. And held. ❤️

What a day.

Laughter, tears, dancing, joy, vulnerability and real conversations. Thank you to every woman who walked through those doors — looking fabulous 🔥 — and trusted us enough to show up openly and honestly.

So many people poured into making this day what it was, and I couldn’t fit all the love and shout-outs into the Reel!

To our incredible speakers @leanneperoofficial @talkswithdrsesay @melonaheadley @hiwetmimi @lady_sy_sational @candybeany @wellbeingwellyou @antonia247official and @edithwilliamsartistry — not simply speakers, but our friends, family and sisters. Thank you for sharing so generously with us. ❤️

To my beautiful cousin @bell_ribeiroaddy my sister-in-law @vean_ima, my sis @melbbosslady @ohsoconnected, our @blackfemaledrs.uk queens and the wonderful @salesforce @dreamforce team — thank you for everything you brought to HELD.

To Keisha, my accessories queen, who brought @bucklesnchains.co.uk, the @purervita team, representing my sis @mskarenjoash; and @theyarenotbadwords — thank you for bringing your businesses, messages and energy into our space.

Even though @mskarenjoash and @dritunujohnson @dritunu couldn’t physically be there, they still poured love into the day and our gift bags — thank you. ❤️

Most of all, thank you to every woman who came, shared, laughed, cried, danced and allowed herself to be held.

I arrived carrying the freshest and heaviest of grief after losing my beautiful Chenene just three days earlier.

I almost didn’t come.

But that room held me too. ❤️

It reminded me that the armour is heavy. Even those of us who spend our lives holding others need somewhere safe to put it down. To breathe. To receive. To rest. And sometimes, to heal collectively.

Thank you for holding one another — and, without even knowing it, for holding me. Especially my baby girl @official__kikiii who was looking after me the whole day x

I’m taking some time now to rest, grieve and take care of myself. I may be quieter for a little while, but please know I feel the love.

HELD was more than an event. It was something we all needed. ❤️

What We Don’t See

African Maternal Health, In conversation.

This Friday, @globalchildandmaternalhealth is bringing our work on maternal health and environmental justice to Accra, Ghana 🇬🇭 , for the first conversation in our new “What We Don’t See” series.

What began as a blog with @c40cities is now becoming a live experience, taking the learning off the page and into the community, where these conversations belong.

We are delighted to be joining @vanessa_gyan, founder of @moderndaymomgh and Eno Quagraine founder of @talkative_mom Studios for an intimate live podcast exploring the unseen systems shaping maternal health, including environmental health, air pollution, child development and the everyday realities that influence the health of women and families.

Alongside the live podcast, we’ll also be hosting a panel discussion bringing together community voices, public health professionals and advocates to explore how communities and institutions can work together to improve outcomes for women and families.

If you’re in Accra this Friday, or know someone who would enjoy being part of the conversation, send us a DM. We’d love to send you an invitation.

See you in Ghana. 🤎

💚 Green Baby Day is here.

Every baby deserves the safest possible start in life. Yet harmful chemicals can still be found in some products designed for babies' everyday care, from lotions and shampoos to wipes and powders.

Babies and young children's bodies are still developing, making them particularly vulnerable to harmful chemical exposures. Parents and caregivers should not have to become chemical experts to keep their children safe.

This isn't a risk that families created and it shouldn't be left to individuals to solve.

That's why this Green Baby Day we're calling for:

✔ Stronger regulation of harmful chemicals in baby products
✔ Full ingredient transparency
✔ Safety standards that reflect real life exposures and early life vulnerability
✔ A precautionary approach that puts children's health first
