POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We took Cincinnati mamas’ voices to the Black Maternal Health Conference & Training Institute! 🤎

Last week, Mama Certified team members Dorian, Josselyn , and Lucia shared how Black mamas and hospital leaders are working side by side through Queens Village Hospital Advisory Boards (QVHABs) to improve birth care.

And it all starts with you. More than 500 mamas have shared their birth stories with us, helping shape real changes at local hospitals.

Now, we want to hear from you, mama. What helped you feel heard during your birth experience? What do you wish had been different?

Every story helps us better understand what care should look and feel like for Black mamas and babies.

✨ Share your story at the link in bio or visit MAMACERTIFIED.ORG/FEEDBACK

Our first of two fundraiser events - Noche de Poesía / Poetry Night - was a beautiful success, and it’s all thanks to you. To all the incredible poets, Horace White @horacewhitewrites , Sol Star @lilemobaby, Jack Fogle @jack_fogle, Adriana Prieto, Maria Seda-Reeder @mamaria, who shared their words, to all of our wonderful raffle donors including @bigchillcincy @justqinbbq @thetrack_kentucky @ocotilloherbals , to Bobby Manelli of @householdbookscincy for offering such a special space and being so generous, to @tortilleriagarcia for donating their delicious tamales and their contributions to the raffle, and thank you to @blackpowerinitiative @boxeldercommunityroom @urbannativecollective for their unwavering support, thank you. We’re also deeply grateful to all of our volunteers who showed up and held it down, and big shoutout to @msloochielu for manning the raffle table! This work is only possible because of you.

Our campaign continues! 🦇 GOTH CUMBIA NIGHT is next on Friday, December 12 at The Comet (21+). Come dance, buy in to our art/services/goods raffle, and support families affected by ICE detention (flyer is already posted) Can’t attend? You can still donate via the Zeffy link in our bio! 🔗

Morning rooftop yoga at @dandelight_studio did not disappoint. Beautiful space, peaceful morning, and @yogawithdina was the sweetest instructor.

I love friendships that make room for wellness. When you can practice slowing down together and remind each other to take care of yourselves… that’s the kind of quality time I’m choosing more of.

The best kind of friendships are fierce lady friendships where you aggressively believe in each other, defend each other, & think the other deserves the world 🌎

Forever locked in 🤞🏾

A few years ago… I had a vision and ran like a crazy woman to found @ccsbuilds_org

Our youth need to be taught the skills and exposed to the opportunities in the vast construction 🚧 field.
Today, we were able to take our 2024 Construction 🦺 Camp on a tour of the @barackobama @obamalibrary construction site 🏗️. This project is 3 years in and 250,000 sft

A huge THANKS to our students, instructor, partners, staff, donors and board members! We could not have done or experienced this without you. Thank you for all your continued support and belief in our vision.
