I’ve been working on something for months (technically years) and it’s finally coming into fruition!!
I spent today riso printing the pages for ‘My Only Crime’, a book I wrote in my second year of uni. These last few months I’ve been redesigning and creating new pieces and layouts for this book!!
I will be debuting it for sale @westartcollective on October 10th!!
This is the most complex book I’ve ever made so I’m excited to exhibit it:)

I’ve Forgotten Fieldfare, Hand Crafted Portfolio Box 2026

I’m excited to share my handcrafted portfolio box showcasing a series of prints and a booklet of poems as a part of my degree show project ‘I’ve Forgotten Fieldfare’ 2026.

I believe this is my biggest and proudest achievement. I couldn’t have done it without @msoa.printmaking.bookbinding

I’ve learnt a lot from the bookbinding process but one thing I would say (and I’ve learnt this the hard way) is that bookbinding/box making involves way more maths than you could ever imagine!

I wanted to create a holding-space dedicated to showcase a very vulnerable piece of work and by presenting my work in a very inclosed way it felt only right.

I challenged myself massively with this project, having to create a dummie portfolio box to test my vision, which I relied upon greatly during the real production of my now-portfolio box.

Once again, I truly am grateful that @mmu.photography has the ability to help students with this interest, like me. This piece took me around 40 hours to make (a whole week in bookbinding) and I really couldn’t have done it without the support.

Thank you to @jakemiller.photography and @_be_muse for taking the time to photograph my work, allowing me to share with everyone!

Project Statement:

“Rooted in the loss of Jemma Beaven’s childhood homes, I’ve Forgotten Fieldfare reflects on how domestic spaces shift through experience and time. The work explores presence and absence, tracing how memory gradually erodes these once-familiar environments. Working across photography and installation, Beaven uses string as a fragile marker to process spaces that can no longer be returned to. These forms attempt, yet ultimately fail, to reconstruct what has been lost. The room is considered as something that once held her presence, now defined by its absence. Through her brother Zac, shared experiences are reframed through differing recollections, complicating any fixed understanding of place. The project becomes cyclical, assembling new absences while negotiating the tension between holding on and letting go.”

the shower sits as something contained, even when my emotional state is beyond uncontained. in attempt to desperately try to begin to process and contain my expeiences within myself, maintaining as much control as possible, the shower comes with me - in the repetitive movements and routine, in the paralysis induced hairdye, in desperate clawing and wishing i was someone and somewhere else.

this contained art object, an edition of 15, and each unique, aims to try and contain the feeling in my stomach - something we must treat with care like i do myself.

Manchester School of Art degree show opens tonight! Huge congratulations to all the students showcasing and graduating this year.

It’s been such a pleasure to work on the branding for this year’s show. I really wanted the concept to feel celebratory, positioning the show as a starting point rather than the end of the road. There is so much ‘More to Come’ as this year’s graduates go on to shape the practices, studios, and industries around them. This is such an exciting moment and I hope everyone feels incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved 🥳

Big shout out to the @mcrschart marketing team for being an absolute joy to work with, and to the @msoagraphicdesign Graphic Design team for sharing all the progress videos and install pics while I admire from very far away in the land of Oz! Whilst I sadly can’t be there in person, I’ve loved seeing the branding roll out across campus and the city.

Special shout out to @loosecollective for the boots on the ground snaps too!

Plenty more images to come but what a wonderful project to have been part of 🫶

Super excited to share my latest work, "fangirls" - a visual exploration of the world of a "fangirl" - a term connoted with teenage girls, parasocial relationships and hysteria.

Using interviews, archival family footage and 35mm portraits, the handmade photobook explores these ideas by talking to self-confessed fangirls, exploring where these connections come from and their lasting impacts.

The work will be displayed as part of @mcrschart @schoolofdigitalarts degree show, taking place between 5-19th June. A huge thank you to all my fangirls who participated in the work, @msoa.printmaking.bookbinding for the endless help and @mmu.photography.

'Fangirls' is a love letter to communities, the teenage girl and my parents.
