POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

1 in 4 women. 1 in 7 men.

These statistics represent real people in our communities, including friends, family members, neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones.

Domestic violence often happens behind closed doors, but there are times when the warning signs may be visible. If something feels off, don't ignore it. Check in with the people you care about. Listen without judgment. Let them know they're not alone. A simple conversation can make a difference.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let's commit to looking out for one another, supporting survivors, and helping create safer communities for everyone.

💜 Everyone deserves relationships built on respect, safety, and trust.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available 24/7. Call, text or chat the CT Safe Connect hotline at 888-774-2900

💜 Today, BHcare wore purple for a purpose.

From our offices and programs to our thrift store (and even a few furry friends 🐾), staff across BHcare participated in Purple Thursday to raise awareness about domestic violence and honor survivors.

Every photo is a reminder that survivors are not alone. Together, we stand for safety, healing, hope, and a future free from violence.

Elected officials, law enforcement, advocates, survivors, and supporters came together for Sound of Hope to honor the 23 Connecticut lives lost to domestic violence in 2025 and reaffirm our commitment to ending domestic violence.
This year's theme, Hope Can't Wait, is a reminder that when someone reaches out for help, support must be there. Safety can't wait. Healing can't wait. Hope can't wait. 💜
Thank you to our partners, speakers, elected officials, law enforcement representatives, advocates, and community leaders who joined us and continue to stand with survivors, including Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congresswomen Rosa DeLauro,
CT Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Mayor Justin Elicker, City of New Haven, and New Haven Police Department.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, free and confidential support is available 24/7 at 888-774-2900.

Today is VOCA's National Day of Action, and we're asking our community to help protect services for victims and survivors. The Crime Victims Fund supports critical programs, including domestic violence services, advocacy, counseling, shelter, and legal assistance. Without Congressional action, funding cuts will continue to impact victim service organizations across Connecticut and the country.

Contact Connecticut's senators today and urge them to support the bipartisan Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act (H.R. 909).

Senator Richard Blumenthal
📧 Senator@blumenthal.senate.gov
📞 (860) 258-6940

Senator Chris Murphy
📧 senator_@murphy.senate.gov
📞 (860) 549-8463

Here's a starting point:

"I urge you to support the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act (H.R. 909). Victim service organizations rely on this funding to provide critical support for survivors. Please help ensure these essential services remain available to those who need them most."

It only takes a few minutes to make your voice heard. Every survivor deserves access to support. 💜

Because of our incredible shoppers, donors, volunteers, and staff, My Sister's Place donated $182,259 to The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services this year. 💜

That's what makes this #FeelGoodFriday so special. Every purchase, donation, and hour volunteered helps provide safety, support, advocacy, and hope for individuals impacted by domestic violence.

Thank you to everyone who makes this mission possible. Together, you're helping change lives.
