Congrats Stacy! Sharing the official photos from the NPC Mid-Atlantic Open, Armed Forces & VA State competition this past weekend, where I snagged a first place win in my Masters class! 🙌🏾

I’m looking at these pics, and I’m so proud of what I was able to do. Cuz behind the scenes, real talk, I struggled. Two dental surgeries slowed down my workouts and impacted my food for weeks. And then, I noticed a difference in my body and training in my 50s:

~ I saw the loss of elasticity in my skin for the first time - around my glutes and belly mostly. It bothered me so much I called my girl fit_with_jeanette to talk collagen supplements. Aging is happening and I’m dealing with it healthfully.

~ Well, my ankles are occasionally swelling up now. WTH? 🤣 Investigation is underway.

~ Back squats were once a central piece of my leg routine. Not this time. My right knee’s not a fan. Coach took them out of the regimen and we worked around it with heavy leg presses, extensions, Bulgarian split squats and more.

~ My energy level for sure ain’t the same. I require a lot more rest than before. The days of operating on 4 hours sleep are over. Over. I stand by my power naps.

~ Additional note: Apparently, my son’s whistling is even more annoying when I’m carb-depleting. Am I crankier? 🤔

This off season, I’ll focus on growth - shoulders, back, hip mobility and keeping my legs healthy. Until then! 💚💪🏽

✨Big thanks to my team!

After retiring my heels in 2017, I dusted them off on Saturday to compete again at the NPC Capital Grand Prix!

The grind was something else! Between football mom-ing, work, and clients, it was indeed a lot. But as you know, with anything in life you truly want to achieve, you dedicate time, you make a way, you lean on your support system, you navigate the adversities, you make power naps a thing 🤣, you pray over it and give 110 percent of your all. I walked away with two 1st place awards that I am so grateful for. But this time around, I honestly felt like I won without them. I got my body back in competition shape in my 50s, gaining more muscle and shedding about 15lbs in the process. That was a win! 💪🏽

My thank you’s:
First, to all the family and friends who cheered me on along the way, I appreciate you! 🙏🏽

On to the next! 💚

So incredibly proud of my amazing friend Stacy on her phenomenal return to the stage! After a seven-year break from competing she took home not one, but two, 1st place medals at the NPC Capital Grand Prix. Her performance was flawless in the 50+ and Open categories in the Women’s figure division. @msstajules You did it and your dedication is an inspiration to us all! 💪🏾🔥❤️

[Week 28/52] Born from the desire to practice gratitude and remember the positive pleasures that come naturally throughout the week #dailymomentsmatter is my little project to recap life.
*
Ahhhhh, what a WEEK!! After so much up and down, I feel very firmly stuck in up—fingers crossed we stay there, but if not, I will still find a way to find the joy. This week was for music, trying new things in the kitchen, and celebrating all the little wins I got to experience, including finding my new favorite anime: Nyaight of the Living Cat—shout out to being married to someone who just GETS me 😂
*
This week’s pictured pleasures include time with my favorite Deltas, seeing Ab-Soul perform, making my own pita and being unnecessarily proud of myself, plus other things that made me smile, like my mom and I using GIFs to communicate.

From Save The Date S1:E2 - “Grown & Dating: Love, Loneliness & The Real”

Title or connection? 🤔

Marriage isn’t the prize—the connection is. A title won’t save you, won’t complete you, and sometimes… it’ll even bankrupt you. 💸😂 Have you ever chased something only to realize it wasn’t what you thought? Let’s talk. 👇🏾

Submission…Leadership, fellas?

We hear all the talk about traditional roles, but the real question is: Where are women being led? What’s the vision? What’s the purpose?

Drop your thoughts below—are traditional roles still relevant, or is it time for a new narrative? 👇🏾🔥

Life can be full—great friends, fulfilling work, personal growth—but sometimes, there’s still that desire for something more. Not to replace what’s already good, but to enrich it. A connection that challenges you, teaches you, and maybe even reveals parts of yourself you never noticed before.

Because let’s be real—when you’re single, it’s all about you. But when you find that person, you grow together in ways you never could alone.

Have you ever had someone come into your life and completely shift your perspective on yourself? Tell us in the comments. 👇🏾✨#dating #connection
