This is the last weekend to see This Body This Earth!

This Body This Earth was born out of one question: What does it mean to belong, live, and exist within an earthly form? This show does not seek to definitively answer this question, but hopes to serve as a way to acknowledge our shared collective humanity and the questions that burn within us.

It was a dream to work with all five brilliant artists, @jun_before_july, @lucaseytchison, @mt.charsuvius, @brendan_oshaughnessy_ , and @mouminatou.thiaw.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to support the show!

And thank you @lucaseytchison for taking these lovely photos of the show, and @grant.gasser for designing the most perfect zine!

What does it mean to belong to a body sprung from Mother Earth?

This Body This Earth is an exhibition that navigates the complexities of existing in an earthly form. With ceramic fossils that tell the stories of migrations or spiritual homes, sculptures that resemble humanoid forms, or photographs that prompt reflection of our shared humanity, this exhibition seeks to express the enduring bond between nature and the human experience.

Artists Charlotte Straus, Mouminatou Thiaw, Lucas Eytchison, Hannah Jun Langer, and Brendan O’Shaughnessy unfold new pathways for discovering embodiment and what it means to be of the Earth.

Opening reception: Second Saturday Art Crawl, July 11th, 6-9 pm Gallery 55

A food drive will take place during the art crawl! If you have a can of food to spare, please bring it to Gallery 55.

Well that was a blast!!! After a couple weeks of rest and sitting in our gratitude we are pleased to share the official installation photos of the first year’s exhibition LONG ENOUGH TO TIE MY SHOE held @villaheikekunstverein

We would like to extend an extra special thank you to @ralfoto for curating one last exhibition, your guidance and expertise made the exhibition such a success. We’d also like to thank @clrbhlsn for taking the time to critic our work, we really appreciated your feedback.

Our hearts and minds are full after such an incredible experience in Berlin. Thank you to all of those who came from far and wide to see the exhibition in person, we can’t thank you enough!

BERLIN!!! Come out this Thursday, May 21st for the vernissage of LONG ENOUGH TO TIE MY SHOE — an exhibition featuring never-before-seen work by eleven Masters students from the University of Hartford’s Limited-Residency Photography MFA program.

For the first time in Europe, these works will be shown together for a very limited time. Curated by the former director @ralfoto and hosted by @villaheikekunstverein you do not want to miss this!

Hosted by Villa Heike Berlin, the International Limited-Residency MFA in Photography program at the Hartford Art School / University of Hartford (US) is pleased to present “Long Enough To Tie My Shoe”, an exhibition featuring the work of eleven master students from the class of 2027.
