@towaterfront42k is creeping up, and my panic-to-excitement ratio is sitting at a solid 50:50. It fluctuates constantly, usually depending on whether I’m trying not to cry over a gel stuck in my pocket, attempting to hit a target pace on a downhill, or waiting around for everyone to get ready to run. 🙃

One quote getting me through this build: “Yes, it’s scary, but you are brave.” (Obviously, from @heatedrivalrycrave ).

I just have to remind myself that at the end of the day, it’s just running. I do this for fun. I train my ass off for me, and no matter what happens out there, hitting or missing a terrifying goal isn’t going to change anything substantial in my life.

Just a few more miles standing between me and the start line. Let’s do this. 🏁 Just keep smiling and having fun.

Track laps as a marathoner 🕺🏼 On paper, this has been the best training block of my life. I’m hitting paces I honestly never thought were possible. Between the @bandit OTQ program and @nell_rojas_running absolutely insane workouts, I’ve been pushed to new limits I didn’t even know existed. Every session feels like a challenge, but also a small victory.

The welcomed fall weather has made these long runs and weekly workouts even sweeter and that perfect running air that makes you feel unstoppable. Now it’s just about putting all the puzzle pieces together on race day and chasing down that Olympic Trials standard at the @towaterfront42k ( even just a pr would be nice. Not hitting a pr in 7 years marathoning is really annoying ha).

Huge thanks to @mtn_techne for capturing last Tuesday’s workout and to everyone cheering along the journey. Three weeks to go—let’s do this! #boulderrunning #torontowaterfrontmarathon #tracksession #OTQorbust #banditrunning

This past Spring @vittorialopes came to us because she wanted to have every advantage possible for her upcoming @worldtriathlon season and she was finding that her position on the bike was a disadvantage. Not only was she interested in testing our M8 saddle, but Vittoria also wanted to work with us on her fit.

Vittoria was having trouble sustaining an aero position, especially in groups and when cornering, and simply could not effectively sprint from the drops without excessive wrist-to-bar contact. Her position on the bike was simply costing precious time in races.

We worked with Vittoria to add stack height and increase her reach with a longer stem, and changed her handlebars over to some that have 35mm tops and flare to a 40cm width in the drops. This higher-and-longer position helps Vittoria sustain a good aero-hoods position that closes the gap between her hands and face to improve aerodynamics, while maintaining confident control in groups and corners. The slightly flared bars paired with the higher handlebar position also allow Vittoria to stand and sprint from the drops, so she can be ready when it's time to push the pace!

Pairing this position with our M8 saddle meant Vittoria could anteriorly rotate her hips and focus on putting out power without discomfort, and the grippy nose of the M8 and memory-foam style padding that cradles the rider means she does not dump weight into her quads and knees, but can focus on putting power to the pedals.

Best of luck in Hamburg, Vittoria!

Sport is hard. Pregnancy is harder.

After an enlightening conversation with @ruthwinder8 about pregnancy in sport, and the lack of knowledge and realistic representation at the pro level, we wanted to learn more and hear Ruth's thoughts.

We invited Ruth and @hollylawrencetri to Wove's Boulder HQ for a deep conversation where they dive into what it is truly like to be pregnant as an athlete at the highest level, the different and shared experiences they have had, and what it really means to come back into sport after pregnancy.

Head over to YouTube to get the whole conversation!

I KNOW BALL 👺 @strava or it didn’t happen. Safe to say the base it built, now to get the top end before jumping back into the season with @tourofamericasdairyland

PS. Don’t break your arm. It’s not that fun 🥲
