SEPTEMBER FEATURE: “Mom by Day, Chanteuse by Night: An Interview with Kat Gang”

“A beautiful melody, the way a singer phrases a lyric, the tension of a harmony, the rhythm of a bossa nova groove — those things communicate on a level that exists beyond language.” ~ Kat Gang

In our latest interview, Marr Not Meeger opens up about writing through sleepless nights, using songwriting as therapy, and imagining her music as scenes from Taxi Driver or Requiem for a Dream. Tender, introspective, and quietly cinematic, Nuit Blanche feels like a diary entry set to music and a glimpse into the emotional world of an artist learning to live (and create) in between cultures.

TikTok just pulled off the biggest corporate plot twist of the year. Instead of getting banned in the US, it created an entirely new company. With ByteDance stepping back, Oracle stepping in, and US data now under new control, this deal could change how social media, privacy, and tech regulation work moving forward.

Happy New Year!! ✨🪩

As I am reflecting on 2025, and thinking about what lies ahead in 2026, I am feeling really thankful for everyone I’ve had the chance to connect with this year.

I started this project because I just love listening to and sharing music, and I never imagined doing so would open up as many opportunities and connections as it has so far.

I took a bit of a step back this year due to starting a full time position, and yet this little blog continued to grow and bring so much joy to my life.

If we’ve interacted in any way, whether for pitches or collaborations, or even just likes and comments, I just want you to know I am endlessly grateful for your support!

I have so many ideas for this next year, but for now I just want to say THANK YOU for being here. 💞☺️

Thank you to the publicists. Publicists are the people to email journalists hoping to get the artists they work with promoted. A lot of times it ends up being a lot of time sending emails to journalists who don't even respond which isn't fair. Everything deserves a listen and I pride myself on trying to get back to the publicists that contact me about new music. I wanted to share some of the publicists that I contacted about books as well!

I wanted to thank a few of the awesome publicists I dealt with this year including: Amanda Cagan, Selena Fragassi, Jessica Hartshorn, Heather Hawke, Catherine Herrick, Miriam Parker, Jamie Sward, Ken Tighe, Angela Tyler, Ken Weinstein, and Stephanie Weiss!
