Proclaimed “The Man to Call When You Need a Cimbalom. (A What?)” by The New Yorker, Chester Englander @multipercussive has done more than almost anyone to bring this remarkable instrument to American audiences.

A longtime collaborator of John Adams, Chester performed the solo cimbalom part on the GRAMMY®-nominated recording of “Scheherazade.2” and has appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, The Cleveland Orchestra, and many more. His playing reaches well beyond the concert hall, from “Lord of the Rings” live-to-film performances and video game scores.

Join us as No Exit welcomes Chester back for a singular evening, where the cimbalom, long rooted in folk tradition, finds a striking new voice in the avant-garde.

Did you catch it?

Last weekend, @multipercussive joined the Seattle Symphony for the Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks program, where a very special instrument stole the show.

The cimbalom is impossible to ignore — just listen for it in Kodály's Háry János Suite.

It’s a rare instrument, so stay tuned for the next time the cimbalom graces our stage.

Thanks for the tour, Chester!
