I took a break from my 22 murals for the city of Raleigh this month and the first mural I knocked out was for the fine folks at the Durham Center for Senior Living @dcslnc The focus was on celebrating the diversity and activity of the community! Super proud of this one and always happy to work with Durham!

This one I created for the 'Innovation Lab' in the beautiful old courthouse of Durham, NC. ⚖️ I was very much inspired by the architecture of the building, Art Deco and Bauhaus references made their way are into the design. Even the black & white moments of contrast were inspired by the tile within the building. We settled on this as I worked with the team to share their vision for the space!
I added a few slides from my storyboard so you can see the brainstorming process & inspiration I pulled in to relay the vision 💛 #thedeclaireation

How I celebrated AAPI Heritage Month in Durham, NC through a community mural for the Common Roots Festival…

It was so fun watching everything bring this design to life during the festival! Community murals have such a powerful impact at events from those who participate to those who watch it come to life. @ncaatogether did an incredible job bringing together so many folks from across the Triangle area to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it!

If you would like me to facilitate a community mural at your event, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Also shoutout to my amazing volunteers who saved the day! @justaa99 @saanvichowla
