Sorry bunch of pics and a long post to follow. I’m still on cloud 9 from my run yesterday!
So I started 2020 with big training goals like so many. I was supposed to do my first Olympic distance Triathlon back in April and I was signed up for Chicago marathon. When everything got canceled I found that it helped me through living in a COVID world to try and maintain a training schedule as much as possible and that works best for me with a goal in mind.

It got in my head to circumnavigate Manhattan because I heard a friend of mine did something like this last year and I thought why not do something that in a normal training year I would never be able to do. With work, race schedules, and travel plans I don’t know if I would ever do something like this. So why not do something out of the norm with this weird year.

I know this was my goal but there is no way I could have accomplished it without everyone’s help!Thank you to all who showed up. Huge thanks to @djlemma for providing support through the whole thing on bike! Thank you to @caitlinaharley @kaylagawlik @polkadotsinthecity @murphy_shannon @sean.gerlich for helping me plan, running miles, provide company and wonderful conversations, take lots of pics and in the later miles tunes and motivation to get me to the finish line. I could not have done this without help! As always #runlikehellgate @hellgaterr #nycvirtualmarathon @nyrr @honeystinger #runmanhattan

Friday was both my birthday & my first day out of 14 day quarantine. i kept thinking about how we’re doing it ourselves & in correlation the strength & love i was giving & receiving was overwhelming. check out these superheroes at Kingsbrook in my old hood of Crown Heights looking like modern day power rangers w far more impressive abilities & better moves. tomorrow we’re sending a box to Elmhurst & hopefully Jacobi in the BX as well. please hmu to contribute! for my first pandemic birthday celebration: i had two more boxes of 112 face shields delivered where they were desperately needed to Kingsbrook (pictured) & NYP-Weill Cornell (video); i got dms thanking me for my work & pointing out the big upgrade in quality that these shields represent; a surprise birthday zoom set up by @murphy_shannon & @tala_ayurveda where my fave pup Lucy stole the show & the homie @domjkd showed up like an upgraded neo; a dance party w @vickyosborn @georgiepawley & Mitali to @richmedina; angel food cake from my mom; & @hkeys4life somehow made happy birthday sound like Robert Glasper at chuuch for me. thank you for all the WhatsApps, texts, zooms, posts, dms, cards, etc. & especially thank you for all the donations @imrul.hassan (!!!), @hallie.is.here (who helped fundraise, too!), @ninaendrsthealth, @lovelyritah2 (who also helped fundraise ❤️), @allisonbethanyblock, Noël Rohayem @djmarmon @katyakosiv @djtommybones @domjkd (who helped spread the word, too!), @lindsaylenaya (also getting the word out!), @mike_lala, @sean_is_teh_bomb, @tala_ayurveda @_marinara (another one to do incredible work letting people know), @lianetics @thelauriansibyl @aleisianfields (hooking me up w donors & frontline workers in need!) @brodybern @marna_chester @remcgill1 @mikefallopian @amylongard Vaishali Jain Janna Diorio Malcom McLaughlin Adam McDowell Amy Shilo Christopher Shelley Shannon Romines Andrea Weisman Isaac Lassitee & a bunch of other people i already thanked in previous posts. & always @setwrights for making this all possible! we’re doing it ourselves. 🦁❤️ #ppeshortage #newyorkcity #coronavirus #covid19 #newyorkerssupportingnewyorkers

these are medical professionals in Queens Hospital’s ER who just received a shipment of 112 face shields from our efforts today. they’re at the epicenter of this crisis & couldn’t have been more grateful. i know this is all i post about these days (sorry, but the need rn is overwhelming), but if you can help, please lmk. I'm currently fundraising for PPE, specifically high-quality, reusable face shields for nyc hospitals, some of whom are absolutely desperate for PPE. It's a very time-sensitive matter and I can deliver same day once I have funds. My source is local and has over 10,000 high quality, reusable face shields currently in stock (& producing more each day). *Beyond people I know personally*, I've had medical professionals from Kingsbrook, NYP-Cornell, Bellevue, Elmhurst, Woodhull, & others reach out to me. Kingsbrook currently has no face shields & desperately needs PPE. I'm also in touch with someone from NYP-Cornell who says they're almost out, so those are my next two targets for donations & I'd love to get them there tomorrow. i’ve reposted screenshots (w permission & identifying details removed) so you can see the difficulty in working w hospital administrators rn (who are overwhelmed—not blaming them) & how desperate medical professionals on the frontlines are for ppe. this was made possible by incredibly generous donations from @marna_chester @imrul.hassan @sean_is_teh_bomb @brodybern @thelauriansibyl @lianetics @christopher_dunlap_ @domjkd @aniket.1012 David Newman *anonymous* @murphy_shannon @jessica.j.milton @joirychelle @graciekazer @davidmatthewking Adriana Celis @hallie.is.here @staceylorin *anonymous* @txaxyxlxoxuxr @grebod Tori Burstein @ragakaga @aaroneatz @hayattokun @donnaglaraway @jcs1003 @aleisianfields @_marinara @hollerandsquall Allison Rollman & others 🦁❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 we’re all we got. if i didn’t tag you in the photo it’s cuz i hit my tag limit. #covid19 #coronavirus #newyorkcity #queens #newyorkerssupportingnewyorkers
