TEAM 91 FRENZY 2030 🥍💙🧡 What a way to finish an incredible season! The Team 91 Frenzy 2030 squad showed up and showed out at the Maryland Cup, capping off the summer with an outstanding 25-8 overall record and finishing #8 in the USA Club Rankings 🇺🇸. We couldn’t be more proud of this special group of young ladies. They trusted the process, embraced every challenge, put in the work every day, and competed fearlessly against every team that stepped on the field. Success isn’t built overnight—it’s earned through grit, determination, coachability, and a commitment to being great teammates. This group embodies everything our program stands for, and the future is incredibly bright. A heartfelt thank you to all of our players, families, and supporters. Team Frenzy competed at Lax for the Cure this weekend and played their hearts out for each other and for something much bigger than the game. 💞 The girls battled with passion, grit, and togetherness all weekend while supporting an incredible cause to help LAX OUT Cancer. This tournament is about more than wins and losses—it’s about honoring, remembering, and fighting for all those impacted by cancer. JWU ‘30 I’m excited and blessed to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Johnson & Wales University. First, I’d like to thank God for guiding me throughout this journey. I’d also like to thank my family for their sacrifices, patience, and constant support. Next, I want to thank Coaches Murtha, Mecca, Cosmo, Ray, and Croteau for pushing me to become the best version of myself both on and off the mat. Left my mark. This journey has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I thank God for watching over me and keeping me healthy throughout it. To my family, thank you for the endless support and patience. To Coach Murtha, Mecca, Cos, Ray, and Croteau — thank you for your guidance and for mentoring me not only in the skills of wrestling, but in the skills of life. To my teammates, there isn’t another group of guys I would rather push myself with. From running the halls, to Siting the bleachers all day, to the intense handball games — the memories and brotherhood we built will always hold a special place in my heart. Making history with you guys is more than I could have ever asked for. It was an honor leading you guys as captain. I love you all forever. This sport taught me discipline, integrity, and resilience and I’ll forever be in debt to the sport of wrestling. It was a privilege representing Section XI and, most of all, being a Colonial. I don’t even know where to begin… this season was historic. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to go out. To all my teammates, it was an honor to share the mat with you. All the late nights and early mornings, handball games, King of the Mat, and just enjoying each other’s company turned us into more than teammates. You guys helped shape me into the man I am today. To Coach Mecca, Murtha, Cosmo, Ray, Josiah, and my family. I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me. You pushed me far past my mental limits and held me to a higher standard than I held myself. Even when I wanted no part of it, you made sure I put the work in. You believed in me before I fully believed in myself, and I’m forever grateful to have a group like you in my corner. This sport taught me that nothing in life comes easy. When you want to break, you double down. When it gets hard, you lean in. I would give anything to go back and do it all the same exact way. Floyd Wrestling wasn’t just a team this year, we were family. I hope I left this program better than I found it and set the standard for what it means to wear Floyd across your chest. For one last time, thank you Floyd Wrestling for the best five years of my career. Well, The kid completed his HS senior season and what a season it was!!! 40-9 season 1st in Division 1 League tournament. (All League) 2nd place in the Suffolk county D1 Championship (State qualifier) (All County) 6th place @ 190lb in his first (and last) NYSPHSAA division 1 championship tournament after going 4-3. (All State) And his family was with him EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!! Congratulations @davidgonz_83 on your successful Senior season. We could not be more proud of you! Bigger things are ahead for you as long as you are dedicated and work hard just as you have this wrestling season and throughout your wrestling career where you compiled a 96-29 win-loss record. I know I've said this several times this year, but I want to thank the coaches one last time for all they have taught, all they have given and the precious time they spent with David and the William Floyd wrestling team! I cannot say enough good things about you wonderful gentlemen who gave David a second family!!! David wrestled his ass off in the NYSPHSAA Boys Wrestling championship. Ultimately he took 6th place after back to back losses. It was an emotional end to David's HS wrestling career. We could not be more proud of David, as in every win and loss he showed humility and sportsmanship. Even if it was missing from some of his opponents. Thank you to William Floyd Colonials wrestling, @murtha.michael @cosmo.stoia @mecca_tony @lisportsshots @brandoncroteau28 For giving my son the tools for wrestling and in life! David Gonzalez won the D1 League 1 tournament to become a league champion @ 190lbs. As a team, William Floyd won the tournament! The Colonials had 13 wrestlers place with 6 of those being league champions!!! Next week, The Suffolk county championships at Stony Brook!!! Congratulations to David and the William Floyd Colonials varsity wrestling team and coaches!
