Still reeling with the joy of our shared time in Italy for the International Artist Residency last week, organised by MuVola APS. A labour of love and shared resourcefulness, a space to sing, share and vision together the present and the future of the art form and technology of community that brings us together: collective vocal improvisation. Also, and experiment in weaving our practice of voices and moving bodies with the land and its stories, and with an existing local tradition with strong and beautiful roots: the Mondine, the hard working women of the rice fields, bound together in companionship and mutual support through song, and responsible for many social developments due to their tireless commitment to justice and better conditions. We sang, danced, laughed, ate generously, and join the Mondine choir in joyful sound, honouring with delight the formidable Cesarina, herself an original Mondina, her voice ringing with vitality and fighting spirit at her youthful 98 years of age. Thank you @muvola_aps , @giulia.matteucci @flowingwith.chiaracortez @jakaskapin @nezapele @sauterkatrin @vale.levchenko @katesmithmusic @kate.mellors @erwannobletvoice @phoebespockets @emma.coleman.music @timachthoven @philipeick @daphnenisi @jeffreynoordijk 🙏🫶🎶 #spontaneous #improvisation #community #collectiveintelligence #vocalmusic
