I don’t have a lot of extra time… but I’ll always make time for this.

Speaking at Miami University reminded me how much I value mentorship, especially for people still figuring out their path.

I didn’t have it all mapped out either. I was an athlete. I had to evolve, adjust, and build something over time.

And one thing I’ve learned along the way...

I give without expecting anything back.
Not because I have to… because I want to.

That’s where the real reward is.

I see a lot of people competing in this business.
I don’t.

I focus on my clients.
I focus on my people.
I focus on giving back.

That’s the only competition that’s ever mattered.

I shared with some amazing young leaders what I made right out of college... but that was not the lesson.

I remember exactly what I made at my first job. And my second.

At the time, it felt like everything.

Now I realize… it was nothing compared to what I was building behind the scenes.

My name.
My reputation.
My work ethic.
My standard.

That’s what opened every door that followed.

Money comes and goes.
But who you are in the process?
That stays.

So I told them, start there. Loved presenting to the Women in Business at Miami! @muwib

No one handed me a seat at the table… so I built my own.

This Wednesday, I’ll be speaking at @MiamiUniversity with the Women in Business, sharing the real story behind what it took to get here.

Not the highlight reel.
The chapters in between.

Starting a career without a clear plan.
Building a business while raising three daughters.
Taking risks before I felt ready.
And learning that clarity doesn’t come first… courage does. Slide 2 was many moons ago.

“Build Your Own Table” isn’t just about business.
It’s about deciding you’re allowed to create a life on your own terms.

I’m so excited for this conversation and the women I get to meet. 🤍
