The PLUS ➕️ Factor One important thing winning teams or tournament champions have in common whether it is known or unknown to them is the plus factor. It gives any team an edge over the opponent, particularly teams with an attacking style of play. This could make the Super Eagles team a world class team. 1. Good goal keeping ( Apex of the Plus sign): The goal keeper must be reliable and should always bring in his A game . The Super Eagles team still needs to work on this area. There is a need for our present goal keepers to improve and get good competition from others who deserve a chance. 2.Stability and Creativity at the centre (Centre of the Plus sign): There is a need for stability at the centre from CDs and/ DMs. A creative player with the ability to move the ball, hold the ball in possession and create chances is also an advantage for any team. One thing that is also lacking in the midfield is the ability to take accurate long range shots. These skills are needed when playing against an opponent with well organised defence line. 3. Creativity from the flanks ( The Left and Right side of the plus sign): Offensive play from the wings is very vital, it is one of the best ways to link up with the strikers. This could come from the full backs / wing backs or wingers, It is expected that whoever is the Coach should ensure players with good offensive qualities (not underplaying the importance of defensive abilities)are selected to play on the flanks. The team has strengths in creating chances from the wings but sometimes, this has been marred by wrong selection . There is a need for the team to work on having good crosses from the wings. There is also a need for wingers to work on taking accurate long range shots when they cut in from the flanks especially in tight games. 4. High conversion rate from the Centre forward (The base of the plus sign): Whoever is the centre forward must be able to convert chances created to a good extent. Super Eagles already have strikers who can do this job well and even create chances. A strong team must have atleast one or two players in the above areas. # Olumuyiwa Akintola ✍️✍️ # Supporting Super Eagles # The PLUS ➕️ factor
