More than anything, I want my children to know and love Jesus. That’s the foundation of everything.

Right behind that, I want them to understand that their health is a gift worth protecting.

I want them to know that strong is beautiful.
That doing hard things builds confidence.
That moving their bodies isn’t punishment—it’s a celebration of what God created them to do.

I want them to learn to ask questions, to be curious, and to understand that they are their own best health advocates. To know that the food they eat, the water they drink, the products they use, the sleep they get, and the way they care for themselves all matter.

Some of my favorite moments are when my girls ask, “Mom, can we work out with you?”

They turn an ordinary workout into laughter, encouragement, and memories I’ll never forget. They cheer me on, challenge me, and remind me that they’re always watching—not just what I say, but what I do.

Mama, your kids don’t need a perfect example.
They need a present one.

Every walk, every workout, every home-cooked meal, every conversation about taking care of the body God gave us…it’s planting seeds.

One day they’ll remember that health wasn’t about chasing a number on the scale.

It was about having the strength and energy to live the life God called them to live.

And that’s a legacy worth passing down. 🤍

I truly believe nourishing your body shouldn’t feel out of reach.

I also believe being unhealthy can become extraordinarily expensive - Medications. Procedures. Surgeries. Constant healthcare costs. There’s a reason healthcare expenses continue to rise.

How we eat literally helps build our physical body.
The choices we make day after day influence our energy, inflammation, blood sugar, gut health, hormones, and long-term health outcomes.

And no — supporting your health does not require fancy superfoods or an expensive grocery haul.

Simple habits often go the furthest:
• Meal planning saves more money than convenience foods
• Buying ingredients instead of packaged snacks stretches your budget further
• Bulk staples can be your best friend
• Nutrient-dense foods don’t have to be fancy to support your health
• Cooking at home is almost always more cost effective than constantly grabbing food on the go

Some of my favorite budget-friendly wellness swaps:

-Homemade fermented veggies = probiotics + fiber for your gut
(Store bought can cost $8-$10 and homemade is often just a few dollars)

-DIY salad dressings (super simple to make and WAY cheaper than bottled/store bought)

-Frozen organic fruits + veggies (nutritious, convenient, less waste, and often more affordable)

-Buying produce in season

-Using less expensive cuts of meat + slow cooking them

-Making your own bone broth

-Buying grains, beans, rice, and pasta in bulk

-Pre-cooking beans and rice for easy meals throughout the week

-Using fresh herbs to elevate simple meals (herb garden or find a friend with one)

Buying staples and preparing meals at home can make a huge difference financially and physically.

At the end of the day, supporting your body is less about “perfect eating” and more about consistency, preparation, and making the best choices you can with what you have 💕

Don’t wait until your body is screaming for help before making your health a priority. Your future self is built by the choices you make today.

A huge THANK YOU to all of the sponsors of the Stephenville 2nd Annual Golf Tournament! ⛳️

Your generosity and support mean so much to our community and to Young Life. Because of you, we are able to continue introducing adolescents to Jesus and walking alongside them as they grow in their faith.

Thank you for investing in the lives of students and helping make an eternal impact right here in Stephenville. We are so grateful for each of you! 🤍
