At the heart of everything we do is love, compassion, and giving. ❤️

Sometimes the greatest gift is simply knowing someone cares. When a community comes together, families feel supported, children feel seen, and hope reaches a little further.

But we can’t carry this mission alone. It takes caring hearts, helping hands, and committed partners standing together to make a difference.

Together, we can keep the love going.

Different teams can observe the same incident from completely different positions.
Sometimes the challenge isn't disagreement. It's incomplete visibility.
What does your role let you see that others usually don't?

Meeting project requirements matters, but the final result matters too.
The technology, departments, and processes all have to come together to deliver something useful to the people depending on them.
Did the project solve the original problem?

✨ Connections. Conversations. Career Possibilities. ✨

What an incredible turnout for our 2nd PTA Networking Event, hosted and led by our amazing PTA Club!

This event brought together Pre-PTA students and undecided students from outside of the PTA Program for an opportunity to explore what their future career path could look like and hear directly from professionals in the field.

Students had the chance to network, ask questions, and hear different perspectives from PTAs, PTs, PTA alumni, personal trainers, and other professionals—giving them a broader look at the many different paths and opportunities within rehabilitation, health, fitness, and beyond. 🤝✨

And WOW… what a turnout! 🙌 This was our second Networking Event, and it continues to grow and grow! It was so exciting to see even more students come together, make connections, and explore possibilities for their future.

A huge thank you to our PTA Club for organizing and leading such a meaningful event, and to all of our alumni, professionals, and guests who generously shared their experiences, advice, and perspectives with our students.

We love creating opportunities for students to connect, explore, ask questions, and envision where their own career path could take them! 🌟

Sometimes one decision changes the trajectory of an entire life. 🎓✨

In her 30s, Dr. Christine Houston went back to school.
She was a mother of three. A divorcee. A wife. A U.S. Air Force veteran. A full-time @chicagocta ticket agent. And a student at Kennedy-King College @citycollegeschicago

She could not have known that one project would help change the course of her life.

When Dr. Houston was asked to write a play, her instructor gave her a simple piece of advice:
Write about what you know.
So she did.

She wrote about growing up in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood in the 1950s—the people, the laughter, the relationships and the world she remembered.
That story became the stage play 227.

And that deeply personal story would eventually make its way to television and into millions of American homes.

But before the television series, before Hollywood, before the recognition, there was a classroom that gave a woman approaching 40 the space to discover what was possible.

Decades later, Dr. Houston would spend 15 years as a professor at Chicago State University, teaching screenwriting, television writing and playwriting to another generation of storytellers.

And in 2025, Chicago State awarded her an Honorary Doctorate.

There is something beautiful about that full-circle journey:
Education gave Dr. Houston’s creativity somewhere to go. Then she spent years helping other writers find somewhere for theirs to go, too.

At 91, we honor not only what Dr. Houston created, but the institutions, teachers and classrooms that helped make room for her creativity. Because sometimes the beginning of a legacy looks remarkably ordinary:
A student.
An assignment.
And someone saying, “Write what you know.”
