💫 October Events Up Close 💫

This month is already flying. We’re having some real picture perfect sunny days over here at Irving and Harman. Golden afternoons, leaves changing, hustling boxes in and out for the zillion events all over town where we’re rolling up to sell books. Nonstop around here. Nowies got nothing on us.

We’re still adding events in October, so keep your eyes up for more announcements. We’re especially excited to be the official bookseller for TransPollinations, a conference co-chaired by Ann Pellegrini and Avgi Saketopoulou. TransPollinations brings together psychoanalysts and other mental health practitioners, scholars of trans studies and queer studies, activists, medical professionals, artists, and legal scholars, to generate new and better conversations about trans lives.

🧙 Oh and also PS - we are working on a special Halloween drinks menu. Gonna have some fun. Don’t worry, our Pumpkin Pie Latte is not going anywhere. Long live our Pumpkin King

I have an overwhelming number of photos in my camera roll from @unitedastrology

this entire trip was so soul affirming. I spend so much time alone and isolated in my craft that to spend time with other astrologers in person is huge. Learning with my friends. Late night chats. Incredible museums. I could not have had a better trip. For me UAC collided with the launch of my Venus Retrograde book A Dance of Daggers & Delights. So to see that work come to life was also very fulfilling. 10 months of work I could hold in my hands and share with my teachers and colleagues. Plus the entire board of @astrologyaya was together in person. Final highlight was the planetarium which had an amazing astrology exhibit. That brought me to tears. 🥹

Anyway until the next conference I will be chatting online about the stars.

Maybe the real natal promise is the friends we made along the way 🥲

I’m still working on putting this past week into words but the first that come to mind are transformative, life changing, affirming, connecting 💗

I’ve made new lifelong friends. I’ve met teachers whose work has guided and inspired me for years. There’s so many beautiful people I connected with who aren’t pictured here but now have a place in my heart.

That’s all I can say for now. My heart is full. My soul is nourished. Happy Virgo new moon y’all.

UAC was a slay

i am so grateful i got the opportunity to learn from and experience from such a wide array of astrological minds. and, most of all, to form and further connections with some insanely brilliant, wholehearted, radical humans. there is much to address in this world of decay and death, and yet so much that is being sparked into creation, nourished and nurtured…and it begins and ends with relationships.

thank you to everyone who spent time with me or i met this past week! i’m feeling physically exhausted but so juiced up to build.

Sweet Summer babes, we are here to affirm that we have plenty of beach time ahead. Let us not fall into the rhetoric that declares this season over before it’s really sunk in. Nothing is over. Come laze with us on these long days.

Do you feel it? The expansiveness of Summer is upon us. And the heat. God almighty, the heat. In these long, slow days in the middle of the year, we lean into community events that allow us to relax, reflect, and be chill with our fellow queers. And by chill we mean air conditioned.
