How are we only a couple weeks away from Halloween? I know I’ve been slacking on sharing my spooky touches this year but we’ve been playing one giant game of musical rooms (I’ll explain more soon). And busy doing all the fall things here in Maine. But I kept it simple this year so you aren’t missing much. These bats are a favorite of mine though!

To think this was seconds away from being a porch plant giveaway ☠️

If a plant doesn’t bring me joy, I re-home it pretty quickly because I don’t have the energy to care for things that don’t make me happy. This was one such plant UNTIL I just re-styled it.

If a plant doesn’t bring you joy, try something new with it. Change the pot, change the location, add an accessory or tool that will help support its growth.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. In this case, I LOVE how my Hoya turned out and it rewarded me with a bloom!

Hoyas are natural climbers in nature so when you do support them with a trellis, they tend to bloom better because it signals the mature vines that there is enough support to encouraging blooming.

The Primary Bedroom at our Montecito condo project. The seating area used to be a balcony that we enclosed to add more square footage to the room. The big sliding windows let in so much sea breeze so nobody is missing the dingy patio that never got used. We built out the wall to make a cozy spot for the long custom headboard. It was a lesson in physics to get it up and around a narrow staircase and then through the front door. A big percentage of any remodel is simply problem solving!
