GIVE A LITTLE CREATIVITY THIS CHRISTMAS

Know someone who loves making things, trying something new, or simply getting lost in a lovely creative project? We’ve got just the thing!

We’re rather smitten with these gorgeous craft kits from the lovely Silvina at @mypapercutforest Thoughtful, inspiring and perfect for anyone who’d love to unwrap a little creative time this Christmas.

Cyanotype printing – create beautiful botanical prints using the magic of sunlight.

Block printing – get creative with pattern and print on a tea towel

Marbling – swirl, mix and make something wonderfully unique.

A portable travel flower press – capture a little piece of nature wherever you go.

Whether you’re shopping for a crafty friend, a budding artist, a nature lover or someone who deserves a little time to themselves, these are gifts that keep on giving. And they’re a lovely alternative to the usual Christmas present.

SHOP SMALL. GIFT DIFFERENTLY. GIVE A LITTLE CREATIVITY.

Pop into Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge and discover these beauties for yourself. We’re here to help you find something a little bit special, whatever your Christmas shopping budget.

Here we go again! Session 1 of channel relay training done.

🏊🏻‍♀️ half an hour in
🧘🏼‍♀️half an hour out

Haven’t done much swimming this year so found it quite tough. Plus the sea was lumpy. Pass me the charcoal tablets 🤢😂. Bloody lovely team though 💖

One year ago today, I was bobbing across the English Channel in a little boat, doing my best to support the Jitterbugs relay team (and not feel seasick!). I am soooo grateful to have had that experience 🚤🏊‍♀️

DNF>DNS

A “did not finish” is better than a “did not start”—and while that’s not always true, it’s what I thought when I signed up for the Swim the Lake Festival at Ardingly Reservoir and then didn’t back out beforehand, or once I was there, or right before I got in the water, or when I first got in the water. And even though I ultimately DNF’d because my panic got the best of me (AGAIN) and I bailed before getting even halfway around the course, I’m really proud because at least I started—for the first time ever.

Do I wish I had been able to swim the full 750m (not a problematic distance for me!) instead of having to clamber into a boat and be motored 300m back to the starting point (a process so awkward that at one point I said “Can I just swim back?”—to which the answer was “No, you cannot”)? Sure. But do I feel bad about how things turned out? Weirdly, no. I just feel bad that the lovely safety team had to help me—and I should say that there were excellent safety precautions at the event. I didn’t freak out because it wasn’t safe, I freaked out because my brain didn’t believe it was safe. This is an ongoing thing. I’m working on it.

Anyway, it was a fun evening in a beautiful location with lovely swimming friends, and the weather (mostly) held, and I gave it my best shot and got the goggle eyes to prove it 👀

This weekend is going to be a scorcher ☀️ what are your plans for the sunny weather?!

How about:
1. Walk in the beach
2. Iced latte/ matcha drinking at your fave cafe
3. A little cyanotype kit making in the sun
4. And a sunny nap to end the afternoon 👀

I don’t know about you but that sounds like a perfect weekend plan to me 🥰

You can find this craft kit along other fun ones by @mypapercutforest on our website and in store!

Wear your sun cream boys! And tag us on any pictures if you use the kits cause I’d love to see the final results!!!

What a fantastic and fun learning session we had in The Business Club this week with Silvina from @mypapercutforest.

Silvina shared what she does to optimise her own website and her Etsy shop. From keywords to images, homepage tweaks to the importance of sharing your story.

So many insights, so much energy!

Thank you, Silvina.
