Our sister title @foodism recently brought the city's food scene to @canal.canal.canal in west London – a four-hands dinner on 16 June, with Zurich's @corinschmid (@drei_stuben, @the_artisan_zurich) alongside @lewis.de.haas, plus a flight of rarely poured Swiss wines.

We tend to file @visitzurich under watches, briefcases and business trips. But Switzerland's biggest city has spent the last decade turning into a serious dining destination – Michelin stars and Old Town classics in the centre, a restless, produce-led scene in the converted factories of Zürich-West, and long lakeside and Limmat-side terraces for everything in between. Then there's the wine: Switzerland exports barely 2% of what it makes, so most Swiss bottles never leave the country – which made this a rare chance to taste it all without the flight.

On 16 June, Foodism brought a taste of Zurich to west London – and no, we’re not talking Toblerone.

At @canal.canal.canal, Zurich-based head chef @corinschmid at @drei_stuben and @the_artisan_zurich joined executive chef @lewis.de.haas for a four-hands dinner celebrating the city’s food scene, from modern Swiss cooking and seasonal produce to a flight of rarely seen Swiss wines.

By the end of the evening, the point was pretty clear – Zurich is not just a beautiful city with excellent hotels, lake swims and mountain views within easy reach. It’s a place with serious appetite, and a restaurant scene beyond fondue and raclette. For us as a magazine, the dinner was a reminder that the best way to introduce a destination is often through a knife, fork, glass and stomach – and Zurich gave us plenty to work with.

With Corin Schmid in the kitchen, Lewis de Haas alongside her, and the Grand Union doing a decent impression of the Limmat, the evening made a strong case for dining in this Swiss city.

at @barbarylondon for all the BAKLAVA ICE CREAM SANDWICHES celebrating their 10th birthday with some hospitality royalty…and not the Harry kind of royalty…

Really showing my age here but I remember when this place first opened and it was so hot, trying to get a seat was near on impossible. Sat around their counter whilst being served this incredible Southern European/Northern African menu from the Barbary Coast directly from the chefs, it was the ultimate experience that London never really had before and yet, here we are, 10 years and a host of pretenders later and this place is still one of the best doing it.

Farking awesome and you need to know. Here’s to 10 more. Congrats to @zoepaskin and the whole @studiopaskin crew.

Our neighbours are better than yours!

One of the best parts of calling Covent Garden and Neal’s Yard home is the incredible people we get to share this corner of London with. What started as simply being neighbours has grown into something that feels much more like family.

For the latest episode of our community series, we were invited in by our closest neighbours yet, @barbarylondon, as they celebrate 10 years of calling Neal’s Yard home.

Inspired by the Barbary Coast and the Berber traditions of the Atlas Mountains, they serve bold, flame-cooked dishes across lunch and dinner from their counter in Neal’s Yard. It’s some of the best food this part of London has to offer, and when someone loves cooking over flame and counter dining as much as us there was no way we were turning the invitation down.

Still riding a high from the incredible pop up @palomarsoho last night: over 100 people fed on a bloody monday, drinks were flowing (a hell of a lot of kumquat martinis), the grill was hot hot hot! @chefdanmurray and the team were incredible: being a chef would be so easy if I got to work with them every day.
Thank you to everyone who came down to support, couldn’t be more grateful to call this amazingly fun and exciting journey my life.

Lots and lots more to come in summer, let’s go!

What a year.

This year was the year I decided to finally travel to a couple places I’ve never been before but always wanted to go to.

Tokyo
Kyoto
Barcelona
Costwolds
Oxford
Tudeilis
Scottsdale
Pittsburgh
Taiwan
Frankfurt
Amsterdam

I also realized truly how lucky I am to have real, genuine, incredible friendships and some amazing people in my life that look out for me the way I hopefully do for them🤍✨.

This year had some incredible highs and also some lows. I’m beyond grateful for truly living my life to the fullest this year and for all of the adventures and experiences I had along the way.

Here’s to a happy new year! Officially ready for 2026!🫶🏼

at @palomarsoho aka one of my favourite seats in London for unbelievable STEAK served on this fragrant zhug I wanna spread on everything, a ridiculous BAKLAVA ICE CREAM SANDWICH and this freshly baked tin bread that was so light, it defied gravity more than Cynthia Erivo.

With a menu influenced by the rich cultures of Southern Spain, North Africa and the Levant, this restaurant, and specifically the counter here, is one of my all time fave seats in London, and has been for over a decade.

The food is delicious but the energy and vibe makes it truly one of London’s best and it will never get enough kudos, even though it’s @michelinguide Bib Gourmand recognised.

Go. Now.
