🏃‍♂️🔥 TECU CREDIT UNION 5K – HILLS AFTER HILLS AFTER HILLS! 😭😂

Oh my gosh! When I tell you guys this course was BRUTAL, I mean it! 😂

Over 800 participants came out this morning at Petrotrin, Pointe-à-Pierre, and I know plenty of them were asking themselves, “Why did I come out here to suffer this morning?” 🤣

That first hill alone was almost 1KM long! I personally named that hill THANOS, because boy, it nearly wiped me out! 💀😂 And when you thought the climbing was over, MORE HILLS!

Despite all the suffering, your Number One Cameraman managed to secure 2nd place overall, finishing behind Donnell Francis in 1st, with Raheem taking 3rd! 🥈🔥

A big thank you to @tecu_tt for inviting me and Pace Link Run Club to be part of this wonderful event. Truly appreciated! ❤️

🎥 Here's a look at the race start! All 800 participants heading off to face THANOS and the rest of those wicked hills! 😂

Let's Big up @ttonemoremile for managing and timing the event 💖💖

If you ran this morning, tell me something... HOW ARE YOUR LEGS FEELING? 🤣👇

Like, comment and share! ❤️

By Clayton Clarke
caribbeanathleticsmedia@gmail.com

HAMILTON, Bermuda: (Thu, Oct 8): World Athletics Council Member Donna Raynor says the empowerment of girls and women requires the support of men as well.

Raynor, who is the chairperson of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) Gender Leadreship Committee, is advocating for an increase in women involved in officiating and coaching. "We want to see more female officials and coaches (but) we never forget that we need male allies to support us and mentor us as we reach these goals. We are not looking to just replace (men) but at the end of the day Gender Equality."

Raynor's comments come ahead of this year's NACAC Gender Leadership Conference and Gala are set to take place at the Beaches Resort, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands on October 30 and 31, 2026.

Raynor adds that during the conference there will be an all-male panel who will talk about their support and mentorship of women."

One of NACAC's outstanding female quartermiler, Bahamian quartermiler Shanae Miller-Uibo, will be feature speaker at the Gala. Miller-Uibo is among elite group of athletes who won global titles at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games as well as the World Under 18, Under 20, Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

Raynor and fellow World Athletics Council Member Cydonie Mothersille themselves have been leading the Gender Equality drive as both were appointed on the World Athletics Council in 2023. They joined Pauline Davis-Thompson as the only women from the Caribbean to serve in the Council to date..
