100 Comfort Cases packed with care in New York! 🎒

A huge thank you to the APTIV New York Team for coming together to pack 100 Comfort Cases for children entering foster care. Every backpack packed represents more than essential items—it’s a reminder to a child that they are seen, valued, and deserving of dignity.

These Comfort Cases will support children served by New Alternatives for Children (NAC), an organization dedicated to helping children with significant medical needs and their families.

Thank you, APTIV, for continuing to show what’s possible when teams come together to make a difference. 💙⭐️

Two days of family business! The window of no more camp but no school yet was longer this summer because of the timing of labor day, so Andy has been working. And, of course, eating. We hit an amazing Taiwanese noodle place in Greenpoint, a halal cart in midtown, and Outback steakhouse (his choice). Last night was salmon bowls two ways at home. A visit to the @bklynlibrary , and a volunteer event at @nackidscan with the @seventhdistrictfoundation . Good times.

Nearly 2,000 backpacks packed since 2018.

As part of RAND Gives Back, our team came together this week for one of our favorite annual traditions: filling backpacks with school supplies purchased by RAND. The backpacks will go to students in kindergarten through fifth grade served by the New York City nonprofit New Alternatives for Children (NAC).

NAC provides comprehensive health and social services for children with complex medical needs and their families throughout New York City.

Our relationship with NAC began years ago, when members of our team served as mentors to children supported by the organization. Since then, we have continued to support NAC through its annual fundraising and back-to-school initiatives. Many of us have had the opportunity to meet NAC children and families over the years, which makes this tradition especially meaningful to our team.

Thank you to everyone who helped pack this year’s backpacks and to NAC for the important work it does year-round.

At a recent foster care awareness event, our team had the chance to connect with community members, answer questions about fostering, and share more about the impact foster parents can make in a child’s life.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk with us. We always appreciate the opportunity to meet people who care about creating safe, supportive homes for children and youth.

This past Tuesday I stopped by the @nackidscan Night for NAC Spring gala/fundraiser at @houstonhallnyc. It was nice to catch up with familiar faces and have encouraging chats with new people, since years ago (pre-pandemic) I was a quite active volunteer and member of their young professionals committee.
•
I’m looking to get friends and colleagues involved in upcoming volunteering this summer, as I am acquainted with some of the newer staff.
•
I felt like switching it up with a bold color for the end of spring, so I grabbed a blazer I’ve never worn and has been in my closet for some time. I’m also a month and a half into my facial hair experiment - I still don’t like it, but I’m glad I saw it through to grow and groom. I think it will look better when I lose the weight I want to.

Every child deserves a chance to feel like a champion. 🏅💙

With support from the Numotion Foundation, nearly 500 children and families come together each year for the New Alternatives for Children's Kids Olympics, a day of adaptive play, confidence-building, and joyful connection for children with disabilities and complex medical needs.

Exciting news from @american_illustration_winners. My murals for New Alternatives for Children were selected for American Illustration 45 Annual which selects the best images from 2025. Much thanks to the judges, NAC, and the design team of Eniko Marton and Virgina Chow. It was a special project.

When children enter foster care, they’re adjusting to a completely new environment, new routines, and new people all at once.

One of the best ways to support them is by making sure they feel included in everyday family life. That can look like giving them a voice in decisions, being mindful of how they’re treated, and helping them feel like they truly belong.

These may not be the biggest gestures, but they can still have a lasting impact on how safe and comfortable a child feels in a new home.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a foster parent, this is one of the many ways you can support children and families in your community. Learn more at the link in our bio.

📚💙 A powerful full-circle moment for our students.

Today, we had the honor of welcoming New Alternatives for Children (NAC) to Buzz! After our school-wide book drive, NAC visited to speak with our students about where their donated books will go and to share more about the foster care system and the children they support.

Students were able to see firsthand the impact of their generosity—and it made it all the more meaningful. NAC also presented our school with a beautiful glass book award and thank-you signs as a token of their appreciation for the 1,700+ books collected.

We are so proud of our students for turning empathy into action and making a real difference. 💫

15,600 hats.
60,120 pairs of gloves.
One impactful day in Secaucus, NJ.

With the help of the Students Going The Extra Mile program we worked alongside 15 incredible partners to move essential winter gear directly into the hands of those who need it most.

When community shows up, warmth follows. 🧤❄️
