💛Fangirl vibes earlier this week!! After 20 years, Rachel Reid came back to Vancouver (with a handheld Hudson William’s sign) as part of her Heated Rivalry Book tour.

What better place to have this event than in a sold out place of worship.

Guess who was uber excited on their way to meet THE Sierra Simone and Julie Murphy at @perfectmatchbookshop a couple of days ago!! I’m starting my week still fangirling over the fact we got to hang out.

Their author chat was hilarious and had me grinning the entire time and I’m so happy to finally meet up again with @claire_chanyu and chat all things romance, coffee, being a mom, and generally gushing over the books and swag at Perfect Match.

What have you been reading recently or fangirling over? Would love to know in the comments.

I had SUCH a blast chatting with @nadinestille for the Fangirl Your Life podcast about the things I’ve been swooning over: my scholarly research on the writer and musician Edythe Eyde and my ongoing love for the Heated Rivalry universe! I laughed and smiled so much on this episode, and I hope you’ll check it out to learn more about the things I love so much!

Just in time for the weekend: Romance Novel Recommendations with some of my favourite badass protagonists leading the way for a better world with Happily Ever Afters for everyone.

Just what we need right now: Joy, community, and everyday activism.

Here’s a list with some of my favorite historical romance novels that feature activists, changemakers, and trailblazers:

💜A Lady For a Duke by Alexis Hall
💛An Island Princess Starts a Scandal by Adriana Herrera
💚Ne’er Duke Well by Alexandra Vasti
💙The Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe
🤎The Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics by Olivia Waite
❤️The Wolf and the Wildflower by Stacy Reid
🧡Her Night with the Duke by Diana Quincy
🖤The Hell’s Bells series by Sarah MacLean

📆Up next on my TBR

- An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole
- Rebel by Beverly Jenkins
- A Seditious Affair by KJ Charles

💡And now I’m so curious...
Which book will you pick up first? Or which of these books have you already read?
What else should I add to my tbr?

👉LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS.

What if the most powerful thing you could do for your kids had nothing to do with achievements — and everything to do with who you’re becoming? ✨
I’m so thrilled to share that I have a new article out in @bcparentmag , and it’s one that’s really close to my heart. It dives into how the tiny moments — a kind word at the door, celebrating effort over results, even dancing in the kitchen after a win — quietly shape the people our kids are becoming.
Spoiler: it starts with us. 💛
https://bcparent.ca/supporting-your-childs-identity-in-the-new-year/#about-author I’d love to hear which part hits home for you!

Swipe to see what local business owners have on their holiday wishlists 🎁

I asked a handful of local entrepreneurs what they’re hoping for this season, and the answers ranged from practical favourites to locally made pieces, good coffee, skincare, and plenty of books. It’s a great reminder of how many talented makers and small businesses we have close to home.

If you’re still building your own wishlist, consider this a festive round-up of thoughtful local picks worth exploring.

Thanks to these busy business owners for answering my wishlist call!

@nadinestille , life and career mom coach, has reviewed When My Bottle Gets Too Full! Read below!

Review: When My Bottle Gets Too Full – Understanding Our Really Big Feelings
by Cristina McAllister
Illustrations by Golnar Servatian

As a parent who talks openly about emotions with our boys, this book instantly clicked for me. The “special bottle” metaphor is simple, imaginative, and gives kids a concrete way to understand those big fizzy feelings that build up throughout the day.

Cristina McAllister’s gentle writing paired with Golnar Servatian’s warm, expressive illustrations created a book that feels like a bedtime hug: calming, compassionate, and deeply connecting. It helps children recognize their emotional patterns while giving caregivers an easy starting point for meaningful conversations to support better emotional regulation.

A beautifully crafted, thoughtful gift we’re grateful to have on our shelf.

This book is a beautiful fit for:

Parents and caregivers who want a gentle, practical way to help young kids understand and regulate big feelings.

Early childhood educators looking for a simple tool for circle time.

School librarians and counselors building out social-emotional learning collections or supporting kids through tough moments.

Families with sensitive or neurodivergent kids, or any child going through a big transition who needs extra emotional grounding.
