A beautiful day with the Haus. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who came by to discover HAUS OF NAHKYA with us at the World Mental Health Day event at Balai Khazanah.

One thought we’re taking away from the event is learning not to compare, not to envy and to protect our own sense of self.

But perhaps just as important is building mental toughness, the ability to keep going, to adapt, to grow through uncomfortable seasons and to come back to ourselves when life gets a little heavy.

And sometimes, even a small moment to sit, create, colour and connect can be a welcome pause from all of that.

A big thank you as well to everyone who ordered our personalised monogram keychains. We loved seeing the different colours, designs and initials you chose, each one made a little more personal.

We’re opening another batch of orders. 🤍

Reflecting on my designing journey since 2006, I have learned that my value is not just in what I can draw, design or create.

But it is in the judgment built through experience.

It is in the taste shaped by years of seeing, studying, experimenting and making countless mistakes.

It is in the ability to translate ideas, emotions or feelings into something tangible - and giving them form, texture, colour and meaning.

Behind every piece are years of learning, failures, observations, experiments, conversations and countless decisions that nobody else gets to see.

While they only see the output - the pieces of papers, only I know the journey behind it.

And my goodness, what a journey it has been.

A menswear collection designed especially for Shah Indra, Brunei - a contemporary collection that references tradition and the hallmark of Brunei's woven craft that must be upheld and preserved.

My utmost gratitude to Pengiran Azlan of Shah Indra and Farhanna of NaForrér for having me on board as a designer and doing their utmost to make this collection fly on the runway of The Kuala Lumpur Men's Fashion Week @tklmens_fw and the countless of support from friends and family - it really means a lot to me.

Every great journey starts with a small, shaky step, but that step is all that matters.
