What my camera roll looks like after seeing Lake Nojiri for the first time 🤍

Most days @samcshoots and I would drive here after snowboarding and take in this incredible view.

Honestly one of the most incredible places I've ever laid eyes on.

"You know what I sometimes think?
There always had to be music.
In everything you do.
And when everything feels really messed up,
At least the music is still there.
And at that point where
Where it’s the most beautiful,
That’s where the record should skip and you’d hear
Just that single moment over and over again."

Quote from the German film
Absolute Giganten (1999)
Spoken by Frank Giering
in the role of Floyd

From a morning routine like this, you can profit the whole day on the slopes.

And after soaking your feet in the onsen, you quickly forget those freezing nights sleeping in the car. ♨️🏔️🏂

In January it was announced that Togakushi Shrine had closed off its famous cedar pathway leading to the main shrine.

Why? Two reasons. One was heavy snowfall making the path difficult. The other?
Increasingly bad behavior from inbound tourists.

Please, for your sake and for other future tourists, please pay careful attention to the rules listed here.

People relieving themselves on shrine grounds. Leaving rubbish and ignoring safety rules (which are particularly important during winter)

Sometimes you don’t realise how busy life feels until it finally slows down — and you remember how good it feels to just be in moments like this.

This is the beautiful Lake Nojiri, a quiet mountain lake in Nagano. A place I’d dreamed of visiting for so long, and one that somehow felt even more special in real life.

It's places like this stay with you long after you leave ⛄❄️
