If you’re new here, hi, I’m Halle, and I think horror gets a bad reputation it doesn’t deserve, especially for queer, BIPOC, and chronically ill folks.

Horror perfectly captures the tension of being truly seen versus fetishized, inherited trauma, and choosing to survive in a world that wants you gone. Don’t let anyone tell you it “makes it worse.” It’s helped with my own capital-T trauma, it’s been the perfect addition to my own ✨ hEaLinG journey ✨

What do these three horror books have in common?

Did you say they're all fantastic? That is correct BUT ALSO they each contain one or more nested narratives (i.e. a story within a story). I don’t know what it is but something about that structure just makes for killer horror fiction.
