I attended the most magical women’s empowerment photography workshop hosted by @nami.creative & @surfgirlnz and held at the stunning
location @tewhaangaretreat

As a photographer, I’m constantly finding ways to elevate my skills, continuously learn and grow, and enjoy meeting like minded creatives. As I continue to grow and find my style, I find it incredible to be in rooms with women who are in similar situations. This workshop felt so magical to me, the connection to the whenua where our retreat was held, the energy from the women and the safe space created for us will never be forgotten.

Thank you unconditionally too @nami.creative & @surfgirlnz for creating such safe places for women creatives, for pouring your energy into our group and showing us your Knowledge and wisdom, I cannot wait to show the photos soon!! Xx

Nervous photographer + nervous client = stiff photos.

It’s a chain reaction.

And after 20+ years behind the camera and 1,000+ women photographed, I can tell you this:

I have NEVER once told a nervous client to “just relax.” 😂

Because when someone is already feeling awkward, telling them to relax usually makes them even more aware of themselves.

Instead, I guide them.

I know exactly what to say.

I know where to place their hands.

I know how to move their body.

And most importantly, I know how to create an experience where they can stop thinking about the camera and start feeling like themselves.

Because beautiful portraits aren’t created by simply knowing how to use your camera.

They’re created by knowing how to make a woman feel.

So I’ve pulled together 5 of my go to poses that I use on almost every shoot, including:

🤍 The exact pose
🤍 What I say to the client
🤍 How I guide their body
🤍 The little prompts that make the pose feel natural
🤍 And how to get them from nervous to completely in their element

And yes…

IT’S FREE. 🥹

No complicated photography theory.
Just 5 practical poses you can use on your very next shoot.

🩷📸 Comment SHOW ME below and I’ll send them straight to you. 👇🏽

Because you don’t need another lens.

You need to know how to create an experience that makes your client feel safe enough to be seen.
