💚 When you live with depression, a difficult day can feel like you’re moving backward. Maybe you spend the day in bed, struggle to get things done, or find yourself caught in negative thoughts. Depression can make you feel like you’ve lost all the progress you’ve made.
But what if a setback doesn’t mean you’re failing? What if it’s simply a bump in your healing journey?
In my latest blog post, I reflect on living with depression and anxiety, challenging the negative thoughts depression brings, and reminding myself that asking for help is a sign of strength.
Healing isn’t always a straight line. Setbacks don’t erase your progress, and you don’t have to face them alone. 💚
Read my latest blog post to explore why setbacks don’t mean you’re failing and how to keep moving forward in your depression recovery journey.
If you’ve ever felt like a setback meant you weren’t healing, please know you’re not alone. Read my post here:

💚Your best doesn’t have to look the same every day. And that’s okay.
Living with depression can make even the simplest everyday tasks feel overwhelming. Sometimes, we set expectations for ourselves and then feel guilty or disappointed when we don’t accomplish everything we planned.
But what if we changed the way we look at accomplishments?
Maybe doing your best today means taking a walk, washing a dish, making a phone call, or simply getting out of bed. These things might seem small to someone else, but they count. What matters is the effort you make, not whether you meet someone else’s expectations.
In my latest blog post, I explore why doing our best looks different on different days, how we can be kinder to ourselves, and why even the smallest steps matter when we’re living with depression.
Remember, you don’t have to accomplish something big to be proud of yourself. Your best is enough. 💚

After 40 years of living with depression, I’m learning that depression may be part of my story, but it doesn’t have to define me. 💜
In my latest blog post, I share a personal letter to depression, reflecting on the struggles, the support, and the tools that have helped me find my strength and reclaim my desire to live.
✨ It’s time for me to lead the dance.

🖤 Grief has a way of making time feel different.

The world keeps moving. People go to work, celebrate milestones, make plans, and carry on with their lives. Meanwhile, you’re learning how to exist in a world where someone you love is no longer here.

And sometimes, that’s one of the loneliest parts of grief.

It’s not just missing someone. It’s missing their voice, their presence, the ordinary moments, and the future you thought you’d share.

There is no timeline for learning to live with that kind of absence.

You don’t have to rush your grief to keep up with a world that hasn’t stopped.

Your love mattered. Your loss matters. And your grief deserves space. 🖤

El duelo no tiene prisa, y tú tampoco tienes que tenerla.

💚 Today is World Mental Health Day. But mental health matters every day.
Our mental health shouldn’t be something we think about only on awareness days, during a difficult moment, or when we reach a breaking point. It deserves our attention every single day.

It’s how we treat ourselves and prioritize our wellbeing. It's how we treat others. The boundaries we set. The connections we nurture. The way we show up for one another.
And the environments we create at home, at school, and in the workplace.

We can’t always control what life throws our way, but we can work toward creating a world where people feel supported, listened to, understood, connected, and valued.

Let’s move beyond awareness and make mental health a daily priority—not just for ourselves, but for one another.

Because mental health is health. And every day is an opportunity to care. 💚

This World Mental Health Day I’m reminding myself, and you, that it’s okay to pause, ask for support, and make space for what we’re feeling. 💚

As a nurse coach, I help others care for their mental and emotional well-being. As a human being navigating grief I need those reminders too. 🙏

Take a breath. Check in with yourself. Reach out to someone you love. You deserve the same care you give so freely to others. 🌿

Not me thinking a little matcha could fix all my problems. 🍵😂💜

I mean… does it help? Absolutely.

Does it taste like emotional stability? Sometimes. 😂

But unfortunately, matcha cannot process your childhood trauma, teach you how to set boundaries, or help you figure out why you keep repeating the same damn patterns. 👀🌶️

That’s where therapy comes in.

So yes, get your matcha. Enjoy your little treat. Romanticize your morning.

But don’t forget to take care of what’s going on underneath the surface, too. 💜

🌿 Con Ganas Reminder: You can enjoy the little things AND do the deeper work. Both can have a place in your healing.

This is your sign: If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, feel free to book a consultation. I offer limited in-person services in San Diego and virtual therapy.

You can book through the link in my bio.
