STORY MAKERS! — DAY 1 (1st Sep 2026)
PlayHoliday Pogramme at KinderKaizen® Bukit Jelutong

What does happy look like to you?
Yellow? Blue? A big smile? A scribble? A whole page of colour?

On our first day of Story Makers!, we read In My Heart: A Book of Feelings by Jo Witek and opened up conversations about the many feelings we carry; happy, sad, angry, calm, brave and everything in between.

Then, we invited the children to show us:
“What does this feeling look like to YOU?”
There were no assigned colours.
No picture to copy.
No one “correct” Emotion Wheel to bring home.
Because even when two children say “I’m happy,” what happiness looks and feels like to each of them can be completely different.
And somewhere between the colours, drawings and little stories they shared, we got to know them a little better too.

A little note about Read Aloud…
Read Aloud doesn’t always have to look like:
Everyone sitting up straight. Hands on laps. Eyes on the teacher.
Some children sit close.
Some lie on their tummy.
Some shift positions.
Some need something small to do with their hands while they listen.

Listening doesn’t always have one look.
Of course, we still guide children when their movement begins to distract others or themselves. But when a child is comfortable, engaged and still following the story, we don’t need to correct their body simply because it doesn’t look like listening.

Sometimes you know they were listening when you turn the page and suddenly hear:
“Wait! Why did she do that?” 😆
That’s the kind of listening we’re interested in. #PlayHolidayProgranne #KinderKaizen

A book on the shelf.
A picture that catches your eye.
A question.
A silly idea.
A “What if…?” 💭

Sometimes, that’s all it takes for a story to begin.

For the next four days, books will live all around our Story Makers! space; not only for “Story Time”, but for children to pick up, flip through, revisit, wonder about and ask us to read together.

Because we want reading to feel like something children can reach for; not only something adults tell them it’s time to do.

🇲🇾 Selamat Hari Kebangsaan ke-69, Malaysia! 🇲🇾

To our little Malaysians, may you grow up knowing that loving your country begins with the little things; learning to care for one another, respecting our differences, helping a friend, sharing a space, and knowing that we all belong. ❤️

At KinderKaizen® Bukit Jelutong, we celebrate Malaysia through the eyes of our children; through stories, play, conversations, songs, colours, traditions and the little moments that help them discover the beautiful country they call home.

Different families.
Different stories.
Different ways of being.

But one home. 🇲🇾

May we continue raising a generation that is curious, kind, courageous and proud to grow together as Malaysians.

Selamat Hari Merdeka ke-69!
From all of us at KinderKaizen® Bukit Jelutong ❤️💙💛🤍

Every feeling is welcome here. ❤️

At Story Makers!, stories give us a way to talk about the things happening inside us; happiness, sadness, worry, frustration, excitement and everything in between.

We’ll read, talk, wonder and create as children begin to recognise that all feelings can be felt and what we do with those feelings matters.

Our space is ready. The storybooks are waiting.
One more day till we open our doors to Story Makers!

What happens when stories go beyond the pages?

This September school holiday, KKBJ is opening our doors to ALL children aged 4–8 years old for STORY MAKERS! — our 4-Day PlayHoliday Programme!

Stories will be at the heart of our days — inviting children to wonder, talk, imagine, explore and turn their ideas into creations of their own.

🔸My Emotion Wheel
What do my feelings look like?
🔸 My Story Cubes
Who? Where? What happens next?
🔸 My Strategy Journal
What else could I try?
🔸 My Space
What feels right for me?

Along the way, children will have plenty of room to make choices, experiment with ideas and express things in ways that make sense to them — while our PlayLeaders get a little window into how they communicate, think, create, approach challenges and engage with learning. Think of these four days as a little creative break for the brain.

A chance to practice their skills in a different way — through stories, conversations, making, imagining, experimenting and play.

✨ 4 DAYS • MANY STORIES • 4 CREATIONS
…and everything they create goes home!

1–4 September 2026 | Tuesday–Friday
Open to ALL children aged 4–8
☀️ Half Day | 8:00am–12:30pm — RM250
🌤 Full Day | 8:00am–6:00pm — RM450

*All project materials & supplies included

Registration is open until 26 August 2026! ✨

Working with kids is beautiful, exhausting, meaningful, and everything in between. It asks a lot but it gives back in ways that can’t always be measured.

To my fellow educators:
Thank you for inspiring me! You guys are amazing 🌟🫶🏻

To myself:
Thank you for showing up, even on the hard days 💜✨
May Allah ease 🤲🏻

Behind every smile, dance move, and challenge completed was something bigger than fun. 💗

Our EduPlay Ground, Walkathon at Zoo Negara reminded us that when children play, move, explore, and laugh together, they’re also building confidence, friendships, resilience, and so many life skills.

Because some of the best learning doesn’t look like learning at all. 🌱

And having family support makes it so much more meaningful. #EduPlayGround2026

Thank You for Being Part of MIASA Charity Gala 2026✨

Some evenings are remembered not because of the programme, but because of the people who chose to be part of it.

On behalf of everyone at MIASA, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who joined us at the MIASA Charity Gala 2026. Your presence was more than attendance—it was a powerful statement that mental health matters, that every conversation counts, and that together, we can build a society where no one has to suffer in silence.

We are deeply honoured by the presence of our Guest of Honour, distinguished VIPs, corporate partners, sponsors, representatives from NGOs and community organisations, our performers, speakers, peers, caregivers, Crisis Team members, volunteers, and every guest who shared this meaningful evening with us.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing alongside us in creating a future where compassion replaces stigma, understanding overcomes judgment, and seeking help is met with support rather than silence.

The generosity, encouragement, and solidarity shown throughout the evening will directly strengthen MIASA’s efforts to continue providing mental health support, crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and safe spaces for individuals and families across Malaysia.

While the gala has come to an end, the movement continues. Every conversation started, every story shared, every partnership formed, and every contribution made brings us one step closer to a community where mental health is recognised not as a privilege, but as a fundamental part of human well-being.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Thank you for believing that change is possible. Most importantly, thank you for helping us illuminate hope for those who need it most.

Together, let us continue to break the silence.
