It was a witchy and whimsical morning for Squamish’s first Moon & Broom paddle.

Inspired by Vancouver’s Witchilano event, witches and warlocks enjoyed a gorgeous morning paddle on the Mamquam Blind Channel.

Onlookers from the shore were treated to a paddling parade of Halloween costumes and there even a dog on board!

SUP rentals were generously donated by @valhallapuresquamish keeping the event accessible and donations to @indigwomenoutdoors were encouraged.

Indigenous Women Outdoors supports access to the outdoors for Indigenous women, bringing them together to cultivate strong connections with one another and their environment through movement and shared experiences. 🤍 🪶

Organizer, @leannerod is considering making The Moon & Broom an annual event.

👻 Imagine the Mamquam Blind Channel full of paddling witches and warlocks and spooky doggos next year!

Randy installed the last 33 rails of the corrals this afternoon. We couldn’t have done it without our friends Nancy, Joe, Colleen, Dan, Joanne, and Rick. We are so grateful for their friendship and their enthusiasm 🧤🧤🐴

"Even in the midst of difficult times, there is always a hidden blessing that exists under all the superficial stuff that we so frequently see. There is always a rainbow waiting to burst forth after the rain."

Thank you Nancy for another great walk in our own beautiful backyard.

Tapado, a Caribbean fish stew with coconut broth. What a surprise. Whole crab, prawns , and whitefish. @valeriepilates , thought of you when this arrived at our table.ps. Fish stew doesnt do it justice, it's really more a bouillabaisse.
