USAPL Northeast Regionals Recap

Now that I’ve got vid and photos from @kevindru_photos I can do a proper recap 💪🏽

This one meant a lot to me and while didn’t meet PRs on all my lifts, looking back at it now, I did a great job considering I was about 7weeks pregnant at the time. Surprise! 🤰🏽Lol

I’m so grateful for my coach @jmklift for keeping me focused and getting me to the best I can be for Regionals. I had only decided I was going to compete in June. That gave me about 2 months/blocks to really prepare. Not to mention I had 1 week in Hawaii in between and then the first trimester symptoms started.

Thank you to my hubby @nando_514 for supporting and encouraging me throughout this whole thing. I couldn’t have done any of this without you.

And to the team: @hudsonvalleypowerlifting - thank you for all the support , hype , motivation and encouragement. You guys are all an inspiration!

Training doesn’t stop, but the focus is just a little different. 💕

This is very exciting to announce. I’ve made the decision that this will be the first M Autowerks track day! We will be at @nysafetytrack on August 28th for a private day! The goal of this day is just to hang out and have a good time and keep the cost as low as possible for everyone. There are only few spots left as I am limiting it to 30 cars. As far as driver experience goes I am trying to keep it to intermediate/advance drivers who have 5 days or more and are solo drivers as there will be no instructors available.

My 2nd Nationals Meet Recap! 🙏🏼❤️💪🏻

Every meet, I tell @brolicgram to load up whatever weight, and I’m gonna move it. I trust his call, and this meet was no different.

I went 8/9 on my lifts (would’ve been 9/9 if I didn’t take for granted how light my deadlift opener felt, with a soft lockout - slide 4 video), and I comp PR’d on all three lifts adding 20kg to my total.

What’s crazy is, 1), this prep has overall been pretty inconsistent with sub-par externals for months, including leading right up to the meet. And 2), I’ve been dealing with some injuries that thankfully made good progress as I got closer to the meet.

Squat - 195kg/429lb ⚪️ / 210kg/463lb ⚪️ / 217.5kg/ 479lb ⚪️🚨 Comp PR

- I wanted 5xxlb+ in comp, but we played it safe based on second attempt. I’ll get it soon.

Bench - 110kg/242lb ⚪️ / 115kg/253lb ⚪️ / 120kg/264lb ⚪️🚨 Comp PR

- shoulder issues have held me back for years, but finally, bench is feeling more comfortable than it ever has in my whole life.

Deadlift - 235kg/518lb 🔴 / 245kg/540lb ⚪️ / 255kg/562lb ⚪️🚨 Comp PR

- I thought Coach put me in for 551lb, but it was actually 562lb 🤣. I’m kinda surprised at how light it felt and the video commentary confirms that with the way it looked. 6xx soooon!!!

Special Thanks to the good Lord for Blessing me, my family, friends, coach and all that have helped me navigate through the good and the bad.

Shoutout to @usapowerlifting for running an exceptional meet. Everyone from the staff, judges (even the lady judge that gave me the stern stare on my first deadlift attempt 😞😂) super awesome loaders and spotters, was just top notch. Even the venue was better than I was expecting. I ❤️ southern hospitality. 🤣💪🏻 ATL held it downnnnnnn.

I always tell myself months before a meet that I’ll prob do one more meet and then take it easy, but it never fails. I want MORE.
