“Good Times, Do Good.” —— @potatohead

We welcomed our participants at Potato Head, a place which offers an opportunity for seeing how bamboo can be integrated with other materials in a modern context, with incredible creativity and hospitality !

📸 special thanks to @dodcah, capturing amazing everything for us during the trip !

峇里島竹建築設計旅行，我們在 Potato Head 迎接參與者。在這裡，竹子可以被運用在非常現代的設計脈絡裡，和其他材料融合於一個空間。我們想讓大家看見竹子非傳統的樣貌🎋✨

What does it take to create the Best Booth at ARCH 2026?

For Sini Main-Main, the answer began in Bali.

Inspired by Sofara Mosaic’s philosophy, The Art of Becoming, this installation brought together Balinese artists, artisans, designers, and makers in a creative journey that unfolded long before the exhibition opened. From handwoven elements crafted in Bali to the details that shaped the final experience, every piece carried its own story.

The result was Sini Main-Main—an immersive space that earned recognition as the Best Booth at ARCH 2026 and invited thousands of visitors to explore the people, process, and craftsmanship behind it.

There is much more behind the installation than what visitors saw at the exhibition.

Watch the full story now on Sofara Mosaic YouTube.

traditions that became art.
palm leaf weaving has been part of Balinese life since the 15th century - for offerings, temples, ceremony. bamboo weaving in Asia is over 3,000 years old.
then someone changed the context.
Gus Ari scaled coconut leaf to 5.6 metres. it stands in Bali’s airport.
Make a Scene put it on restaurant ceilings and hospitality gates.
Blooming Elise brought it to floristry in Jakarta.
Korakot Aromdee brought it into Cafe Dior Bangkok.
Tanabe Chikuunsai IV took bamboo to the MET and Loewe.
Nano Uhero wove frames for a gallery in Bali.
and we brought it into the spaces we design.

the craft didn’t change.
the context did - and that changes everything.
