The first time I ran 13.1mi was 10/18/26. This made the second and I’ve been inconsistently “training” since July. T’was a little cold, there were more hills than I imagined, and my watch died. Nonetheless, it was a win I needed! I might ignore the marathon message though.😅🤣

Honestly pretty proud of myself for completing a 5k race 🏃🏽‍♀️🏁🏅As someone who rarely runs and is not very good at it, my hope was just to run the whole thing without walking. Not only did I do that, but I was so surprised by the results!!!

Yesterday just wasn’t my day. I could tell you about 15 solid reasons why, but ultimately my head and heart just weren’t in it. I thought about quitting from miles 3 to 10 and probably would have if it weren’t for so many friends running or out on the course cheering that encouraged me.

Running really changes everything and I am so darn grateful for this community. And I am thankful for the ability to run, even when it hurts.

On to the next one.

APOLOGY FOR THE LONG POST!

If you told freshman year of high school me that I’d one day run a half marathon, let alone love running as much as I do, she would’ve said there was absolutely NO WAY.

In high school, when my health started to decline, I couldn’t even finish a 5K. I got back into running senior year, and over time, it became one of the most constant things in my life—a place to go on both the best and worst days- my medicine.

Today, I ran my first half marathon. It was challenging(the hills were brutalll), but also the coolest thing I have ever done. If running has taught me anything, it’s that you can do hard things.

I’m so grateful for the people who support me always, both near and far <3

This one was for my high school self who had so many unanswered questions about her health. I think she’d be pretty proud of where we are today.
