Start eating your apples, folks.

So blessed to have made it this far in my medical journey. And what an honor it is to be coated by my father, a huge inspiration of the kind of doctor I strive to be.
But seriously. An apple a day….

This past week, our Chapter President and Vice President/National Liaison Officer had the privilege of representing Duquesne University Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine at the 2026 SOMA Summer Leadership Conference, the National Osteopathic Student Caucus (NOSC), and the AOA House of Delegates in Chicago.

Throughout the week, they participated in leadership programming, collaborated with osteopathic student leaders from across the country, gained valuable insight into physician advocacy and health policy, and learned from national leaders shaping the future of osteopathic medicine. They also had the opportunity to witness the AOA House of Delegates and the policymaking process that helps guide our profession while connecting with physicians, residents, program directors, and student leaders from colleges of osteopathic medicine across the country.

We are grateful to DUQ-NCOM for supporting their attendance and investing in student leadership. Thank you to @national_soma, @cosgp, and the American Osteopathic Association for an incredible week of learning, collaboration, and advocacy.

They’re excited to apply what they learned throughout the upcoming year and continue serving our classmates and the osteopathic profession.

Our first-year MSAT students recently had the opportunity to participate in an IV lab alongside the amazing faculty and staff from the Duquesne Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine!🩺

While IV access is not currently within the scope of athletic training practice in Pennsylvania, it is an educational standard and athletic trainers in some states are permitted to perform these procedures. At Duquesne we are committed to preparing students for the diverse settings and state practice acts they may encounter throughout their careers.

A huge thank you to the COM for partnering with us to provide this valuable hands-on learning experience and helping our students build confidence, expand their clinical knowledge, and prepare for wherever the profession takes them next!
