Moments of Beauty:Stillness:Connection:Communinty.
Much time spent out of the studio this week, I’ve been more out of flow in the studio but fully in the flow of life.
I have eaten the most delicious food. Experienced a sublime evening with the music of Arooj Aftab . I’ve met friends old and new and spent time being, doing and laughing and maybe a bit of dancing. Today as I watched the sun begin his journey on this solstice morning I give thanks for my soul family. What a beautiful week. So many wonderful moments , many not captured as I was just too “in” them.
Sunday Solstice love all.

Soo many FABULOUS Business women yesterday at our networking & workshop event, ChangeMaker Connections. The stall-holders shared gorgeous gifts and I also can't thank my associate coaching team, Patricia, Amy, Augustina and Rachel enough for bringing their wonderful can-do energy to the day. Plus great pizza, salad, staff and service from @exhibitbalham

I briefly mentioned that I was having a solo exhibition of this work. This will be first time I’ll be exhibiting this work on its own including the BLM drawings. Most importantly during Black History Month.

The proliferation of reductive or harmful narratives in politics and media makes projects like Blackground even more necessary. It insists on complexity, truth, and presence where erasure and denial are widespread.

‘Blackground’ is an exploration of legacy what is passed down, carried, and reimagined. Rooted in histories of slavery, ancestry, and identity, the work asks how we hold both pain and resilience in our bodies and our stories. As a mother, creating ‘Blackground’ is an act of honouring the past while shaping what my children inherit: a language of truth, strength, and belonging.

Thanks to @sandyhillarts for the opportunity to show this work.

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of attending Local Light at @thegallery_aub — an incredible evening hosted by @thesparkhubs and @uksiliconsouth , celebrating Bournemouth’s creative energy.

From film and writing to gaming and tech, the space was buzzing with ideas, connections, and inspiring people who are shaping the BCP creative scene.

So grateful to have met:
Mike Hayward– the godfather of game dev in BCP
Dominic Wong– founder of Bournemouth Writing Festival
Liam Winn– producer, mentor & BCP Film Board member
Steve McCarten– founder of Bournemouth International Film Festival (your story hit home!)

And a big shoutout to @danwareceo – always a pleasure attending the events you bring to life

Great to see familiar faces and make some new creative connections.
