POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I feel like the luckiest gal in the world to be supported by @trewgear again this winter! They are the real deal, in every regard. They’ve supported my dreams, respond to my emails(!!), are a fun hang, and just some darn good people.

And and and! They make some amazing outerwear. It’s stylish, it keeps me dry, breathes well, is lightweight & packable. I could go on. From remote slides in the Adirondacks to the winds and gullies of Mount Washington, this is the gear I’ve come to rely on.

TREW just launched their 26/27 PRIMO collection AND they’re giving away a free kit this weekend! Check it out at the link in my bio.

Shots from one of my favorite days in the mountains with the @wearewildline crew and @natelovesnature for @adkavy 🩵 northeast bowl alllll the way down to marcy dam will forever have my heart.

spring/early summer 2026 -

The leaves are changing and I’m having a hard time resisting the wide-eyed wonder and rubbernecking out car windows on my daily commute up Pinkham Notch.

But I’ve got a batch of old photos I’ve been wanting to share, memories from a different turn of seasons. Time where daylight was growing and we were nearing the summer solstice. It’s funny to look back on these photos, memories so far and so close. Summer truly escaped me. I’m never quite sure how to prevent it from slipping through my hands. I always thought with age the task would become easier. On the contrary, I find it’s becoming much more difficult.

Spring was a balance of holding onto winter and welcoming in warmer days. I put my skis away much later than ever before, always with the hope of one more day up high on Washington.

There was a lot of promise in that season - weddings, mending, flowers, bikes, Adirondack visits. The whole season in front of me, that vibrant green, a new beloved job. I had to find new rhythms in this place, balance homesickness with exploration. I’m still not quite far enough away from that time for reflection. These photos represent the best days, the easy ones. Now more than ever I think it’s important we remind each other that we are far more than our best days. There’s sadness and hardship and loneliness, which we rarely see on our tiny screens. Be gentle with yourselves, and please keep each other safe. Until next time 💌

Oh January! New year, new home. Started 2026 up at one of my favorite places (thanks Jim & Em!) and a 1am ski down the Sherb.

January was for skiing! And teaching and exploring. Learning and listening and being good to myself. Listening to myself, listening to others. I was lucky to have SO many great days on Washington.

In January I shadowed a level 1 course, started shadowing @robbenton_ ‘s season long level 2 course, and taught two level 1 courses and an intro to backcountry skiing course with @eastcoastavalancheeducation & @chicksoncliffs . All while working a full time job! I’m not sure if I even had a real day off, but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I found a deep love for educating and can’t wait to keep teaching avalanche courses.

I also had the privilege of taking a Professional Avalanche Search and Rescue course with @avyinstitute , which was incredibly rewarding. I remember coming home after the first day of the course and hearing phantom beeping beacons because of the days worth of rescue practice I had done.

I have a feeling I’ll forever look back on this January as an important one. The month of shifting and trusting. These little photo and writing exercises are just as much for me — the seasons shift and move and change in an instant and it’s so easy to forget about all the good in this changing world. It’s nice to sit with these warm moments for a little while, to think of how far I’ve come in just a few short months. I know the same can be said for you too.

Properly enjoying our first big dump of the season today, with nearly half a foot all said n' done! ❄

However, by now we're sure you've heard of the cold snap heading our way.. Here’s our Operations Plan ➡️

🥶 Saturday (1/24): Lookout Mountain Lift & Summit Lift closed due to extreme cold, wind, and windchill.

⏰ Sunday (1/25): Morning delays possible — our team will work to open all lifts as soon as conditions allow.

🚫 Uphill access is canceled both Saturday and Sunday for safety of guests and staff. We appreciate your understanding.

❄ The good news is that we're looking at another storm heading our way Sunday into Monday with a whole lot of potential 🤞

As we reflect more on this last season and begin to prepare for next year, we would be remiss if we didn’t send out a huuuuuuge virtual Arcadian thank you to the amazing ADK Semester staff that made the semester what it was. When hiring for the AD position, we are put to the almost impossible task of finding individuals that can and will wear an absurd number of professional hats: carpenter, amateur electrician, wilderness first responder, guide, teacher, counselor, facilitator, cook, logistics manager, supply chain expert, friend, mentor, leader, event planner, board game aficionado, rodent control, boat maintenance, composting toilet bilger, etc., etc., etc…

Not only do Nate and Nicole wear all of these hats, they do so with such wonderful care and grace. We could not be luckier to have them as part of our community supporting our students.

Thanks Nate and Nicole for all that you do!!
