A huge thank you to all that attended our event on Sunday! We are honoured to have worked with @stkildafilmfest on this event. It was a strong screening of short films by Australian Deaf and Disabled filmmakers. Our speakers included Leo Berkley (Dark Matter) and @bolshiebird (So, Beautiful). Also, @ireneholub was our 2025 winner of the Lesley Hall Arts and Disability Scholarship. We were delighted that Irene could announce @nathan_borg as our 2026 winner! Today was one of those days that really made me stop and take it all in. We brought clients and coaches together for a group session. Training, chatting, fixing up form, answering questions and finally putting faces to names. Watching clients train alongside the team and seeing the relationships that have been built throughout this year honestly means more than I can put into words. What started as a small PT business has grown into a community that I’m incredibly proud of. To every client who has trusted us with their journey, shown up on the hard days and backed the process, thank you. And to the coaches who pour so much care into every session, every message and every check-in, this wouldn’t exist without you. This year has been about growth in every sense, and days like today remind me why we do this. So grateful for the people, the support and what we’re building together 🤍

Last week was a bit magic ✨ Strawberry Cheesecake - a short film told entirely in Auslan - was celebrated at @busstopfilms Best of the Bus Awards in Sydney, taking home Jury’s Choice and Best Cinematography. We’re so proud of two of our own: Sean Lohia McParland, who wrote and directed it, and Harry Hertrick, who shot it so beautifully. Harry also worked on Ratbags as the film's editor. These two bring so much care and creativity to every project, and this one in particular meant a lot. Big love too to Peter Geale, who edited and coloured Strawberry Cheesecake - and also worked on our film Ratbags as colourist and sound designer. His storytelling instincts are second to none, and we’re lucky to have him in our corner. Celebrating OUR people, their stories, and the trust we build together. 2024: What a year it’s been! Looking back, we’re incredibly grateful for the personal and professional growth we’ve experienced. Yet, as Black deaf women, it’s still hard nowadays. We’re privileged to be full-time content creators, but the diversity & inclusion in the industry seems to be going backwards again. They’re following “the same trends” standards again, and social media algorithms are biased. It needs to be better, but we won’t give up. Shadow banning Black/POC and disabled creators needs to stop though. It’s been a journey filled with exciting opportunities, thanks to our management, @matchstickgroup aka @maxparker8, meeting new people, challenging moments that pushed us to grow, and valuable lessons learned along the way. ✨ Huge thanks to you, our followers, who have been a part of this journey with us.
