✨ “𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 & 𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀” - 𝘋𝘳 𝘙𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘮𝘴 𝘉𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱

Ever heard of this metaphor? As an educator, I truly believe in the power of books and stories and this metaphor sums up exactly why.

When selecting literature for our little ones, it’s not just about grabbing a book off the shelf, it’s an intentional process of selecting a story that holds the ability to mould the minds you read to.

Come join me as we unravel the layers to this beautiful metaphor that encapsulates the true power of children’s literature. 📚

🐾 Today is World Animal Day… and I have a little something to say. 🤎

Being a dog is pretty pawsome. I get cuddles, treatos, walkies, toys and hoomans who somehow know when I am asking for a snack even before I ask. 🥹🐶

But I know not every animal gets to be this lucky.

So today, I am thinking of the animals still waiting for their second chance, the community animals being cared for, and the kind hoomans who rescue, foster, adopt, volunteer and never give up on them. 🐾

Because every animal deserves to feel safe, loved and wanted.

It takes a village to make a difference, and even one little paw can help make the world a little kinder. 🤎🐾

Happy World Animal Day, everypawdy! 🐶

I love stories! Traditional, good old stories (sometimes) with a moral, or a devastating theme. Some stories have wisdom, and some call themselves parables, yet others are even stranger, calling themselves folklores and fables. In some cases, legends or myths.

In this iteration of scratcheasy, I am researching what happens when these juicy stories are embodied by contemporary bodies. How do they move? What comes out of moving stories?

I have the extreme pleasure of playing with, and directing very wonderful and talented artists in these works coming up. In some stories we explore presence in the face of death, in others we ask what IS prayer? In another, how the fox sour grapes. And simply, we ask, how did stories come into the world?

Register and come by for a Thurs evening, where we can cross the world together and experience traditional stories from everywhere.

If you are there at the very beginning and at the very end, you have a rare chance to catch our very own ensemble movement to Ring Down Below - a traditional maritime song from Carricou, Grenada, usually performed as funerary rites, especially during a Tombstone feast.
