At a time where affordable, accessible public golf is disappearing, the proposed redevelopment of East Potomac should not follow that trend. It needs to stay accessible, for golfers and non-golfers, especially since it is public land.

Your 2026 National Links Trust Championship presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods Men’s Division champion, Nabeel Khan.

A first time player in the championship, Nabeel Khan held off a formidable pack of chasers in his victory. A bogey on his third hole and string of pars to follow caused his lead to shrink to as few as a single shot early on the front nine. Undeterred, Khan birdied the eighth and tenth holes to increase his lead, while a birdie on the seventeenth proved to be the knockout blow. In the end his three day total of 213 (-3) resulted in a five shot victory over inaugural champion, Tyler McKeever.

Congratulations, Nabeel!

A three-peat for 2026 Women’s Division champion, Mia Zanghetti.

A two-time defending champion, Zanghetti, once again overcame a final round deficit to take home the trophy at the National Links Trust Championship presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods. Entering the round one shot behind overnight leader Allison Oldberding, Zanghetti parred the opening hole to tie the lead. Following bogeys on her second and third holes, she birdied her third before a string of pars where she slowly pulled away from the field in frigid conditions.

After going out in 37, her consistent play continued on her back nine. Her final round 76 resulted in a four shot victory. She will seek to become a back-to-back-to-back-to-back (!) champion when the event returns next fall.

Congratulations, Mia!

Moving day is in the books at the 2026 National Links Trust Championship presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods.

A long, wet golf course was made more difficult by cold temperatures and gusty winds. In the Men's Division, Nabeel Khan (Lewis Center, OH) holds a one shot lead, but four players, including first round leaders Chris Burns and Ryan McGarry and inaugural champion Tyler McKeever, are within two shots of the lead. In the Women's Division, Allison Olberding (Arlington, VA) birdied the closing hole to take a one shot lead over two-time defending champion Mia Zanghetti into the final round.

Play begins off the first and tenth tees tomorrow morning at 8 AM.
