⚠️ Attenzione! Attenzione a tutti ⚠️
Rara's Cucina is officially here!!! The long-awaited redesign.

Huge shout out to @natpdesigns for her creativity and expertise in this redesign process. She truly brought my vision to life. It's stunning!

Also, I want to thank everyone who has supported my journey thus far as Rara Reviews, I hope you are all just as excited as I am for this new foodie adventure.

With a glimpse into my Italian heritage, this new direction will also include more creations, both traditional and new, some insightful nutrition information, and a continuation of sharing my passion for food!

Let's bring this vision to life! There is plenty more to come

"Food is our common ground, a universal experience." - James Beard

It is the centre of all occasions. As a proud italo-australiani who's been brought up in the kitchen, assisting mum and Nonna to serve a feast for our loved ones. I've witnessed the pure joy it can bring, preparing dishes for hours on end to then see your creations devoured in seconds.

Food is that form of connection. A way to unify between cultures and different languages. It's where flavours can be experimented on and enhanced. The language of food is understood by all, and I'm excited to share more of that universal language through Rara's Cucina

S.S03 / visiting the quarry

After the mid-semester break, Week 7 started with a field trip to the Beech Forest Quarry, a 30-minute drive from Colac. The “Surfacing Collections” Studio field trip spread throughout 3 days + 2 nights allowed us to visit the site for our next brief: designing spatial propositions for a contour path in/on/at the quarry.

One of the spaces operated by “These Are The Projects We Do Together”, we were able to encounter the quarry and experience the space, embodying + intensifying conditions through little interventions.

These pictures showcase my experience in the quarry on the first day, and details that made me curious about the quarry as a space that is alive.

Work by 2nd Year Student Nat @natpdesigns // Moving Times * // @raphlleticket // @akustikstudio

Aim: Respond to the speculative future program of the Birrarung Cultural Precinct by designing a project on country at Heide which initiates its future transition.

'Orbit' immersive images

Sydney Nolan stated, 'the thing you come to realise is that nothing is fixed - that everything keeps being transformed and you have to sense where paradise is in the process...

Orbit is the curved path of inhabitable space, inviting temperamental interaction within two intersecting arcs. Incapsulating movement from one fixed, intransigent position to alternate your perception. It brings people into context and relationship with the place, allowing them to build a connection, enhanced through a juxtaposition between an Interior and exterior, with ecology engulfing through the boundless frames of materiality. The space is encountered curiously. You move through, touch, listen, to frame nature and the outside world.

The chosen site at Heidi embarks on the connection between Land and water, the Remnant Land and the Birraung Marr. You are immersing yourself through the gentle, pleasant
sound of water moving downstream, amplified through the curved amphitheatre qualities of the inhabitable Sculpture. The site undeniably informs the building shape, how it's supported, how it meets the earth and how sensibly the
design reacts to local conditions. The raised deck is an expanded threshold sitting lightly with the ground - allowing natural drainage patterns, soil conditions and native vegetation to coexist.

Over time, the number of people who connect with the space would increase to protect the place's continuity, preserve special site features, and conserve Australian natives. Intentional framing without a roof introduced species, plants and invasive weeds to engulf through the elevated mesh steps and within the boundless frame of the outdoor amphitheatre sculpture over time. The form becomes a frame for another thing to take hold.
